Amir Haskett and Donte London will no longer be suiting up for Coatesville, as both fantastic prospects have moved on to the next-level football or have transferred out. Obviously, the likes of Armon Richardson and the aforementioned duo no longer providing production will be felt on both sides of the ball. What's good, Coatesville will be returning [player_tooltip player_id='1155807' first='Matt' last='Ortega Jr.'] for what will be his junior season. Small stature, big arm. An arm good enough to lead this team to a Conference title. The supporting cast will definitely look different, yet having the same voice in the huddle calling plays should alleviate some of the year-to-year roster turnover. Ortega is capable of out-pacing his sophomore numbers. 1,400 passing yards, 18 scores to his name, 2nd-Team All-Conference honors. Ortega Jr. scans the field like a seasoned vet. Spreading out his targets and operating in five-wide sets out of shotgun should have the junior in a comfortable setting. Don't be surprised to see Ortega use his legs to extend plays or run for first downs. A ton of downfield production, I am excited to see if Ortega is forced to pull balls down and keep things under 20 yards. Can he still flourish if his targets aren't burning DBs left and right? I think he can and will.

Excited to see what the 2024 version of [player_tooltip player_id='1352736' first='Nasir' last='Jordan'] is going to look like. Jordan played sparingly in 2023 from what I can tell via season tape. That being said, Jordan flashes enough of a spark toting the rock to land on our ranks. I'm out of the loop whether or not the starting back spot is his to win or lose, I do imagine we see his carry total tick up a bit now that he's a junior, so long as he's earned it in the offseason. Solid size, solid stride, has a couple multi-score games logged already from what I can tell. I'll have my eyes peeled moving forward.

Coatesville has always deployed two-way starters in the past. With two/three elite two-way stars moving on to the next level, Jaqwan James is my pick to step into that playmaker role. A prospect who can affect the football game in any three phases. A fantastic punt/kick returner, James has already solidified a return man role dating back to last year when the junior returned multiple kicks back for scores. Offensively, you can likely flirt with the idea of giving James a couple hand-offs per game, yet his presence will be felt at wideout. Can run posts and nines well, will likely hurt defenses in the short game more than anything. Screens, swings, outs, hitches, James is capable of out-pacing DBs in open space. He can make something out of nothing, his sophomore tape proves it. James can also provide quality reps at corner, which is why we designated him as an "ATH". I expect to be ranking James a bit higher after his junior season comes to an end.

There are few Eastern PA 2027s who I'm more excited to see take a leap this coming Fall than [player_tooltip player_id='816286' first='Maxwell' last='Hiller']. Already a household name in the Coatesville community, already a multi-offer holder after just one season of tape on Hudl. The likes of Syracuse, Maryland, Oklahoma, and Penn State are just a few who have already extended offers to the 6'5, 295-pound offensive lineman prospect. Coatesville will enter the 2024 season with the top-rated 2027 offensive lineman, a lineman with two offseasons under his belt. I have a feeling we will see an even more refined and developed version of Hiller, one more confident despite the former freshman already showing signs of dominance at such a young age. Stationed at right tackle for what looks like the majority of his FROSH tape, equally stout in both run and pass blocking. One of the more well-balanced games/skillsets, this a huge factor when deciding if any other tackles across the state can dethrone Hiller come ranking update time. I find it unlikely.

Left tackle reps at Coatesville were reserved for the more experienced, more long in the tooth prospect, that being incoming senior [player_tooltip player_id='915695' first='Cole' last='Plant']. Up in size since we last updated his measurables. Debuted on our list at 6'3, 260, now lists at 6'4, 300 pounds, substantial growth has been had over the years. Recently made the climb into the Top 300 of his class, breaking into the top 50 at his position. Would place even higher if solely ranking tackle prospects. Plant has room on tape to impress. Plant is undoubtedly a serviceable starter, one Coatesville can win with, yet Plant has room on tape to become an automatic addition to PSAC boards. Plant's tape and talent ceiling is close to being dominant, close to being top tier, yet it's lacking attitude and violence. A nitpick here, Coatesville will deploy two awesome bookend tackles, making things easier for whoever is passing and/or toting the rock.

Coatesville will rely on their two giant tackles to hold off fantastic District 1 edge-rushers. Coatesville has the luxury of deploying another fantastic lineman in between the tackles. An argument can be made that interior blocking is just as important as exterior, so Thomas McAnally serving as the starting center for back-to-back seasons should have the coaching staff feeling confident they can call any sets on Friday nights. McAnally doesn't carry otherworldly size or strength, yet the young man's tape is more than worthy to land on our ranks. Him not being on our lists is an oversight on my part. 6'0, 230 pounds. McAnally, Hiller, and Plant will serve as a formidable force in the trenches.

6'3, up from 255 to 275-280 pounds. 3.5 GPA. Unoffered but suffered a serious knee injury back in October that required surgery. I didn't drop Lynch despite the weight gain and knee surgery partly because I know there is a Division One prospect underneath the surface. We might have to face reality and hope for D2 teams to pull the trigger on the standout defensive lineman after seeing his first-three tape on Hudl. I find it likely a PSAC program will find Takiyah Laynch's potential worthy of a scholarship offer, time will tell. The window to play TE at the next level has likely closed, yet a window for OL might have opened in its place. 6'3, 280, Lynch's going to primary at IDL, he's the first defensive starter mentioned in this preview thus far. Here's to hoping we see the best version of Lynch now that he's a senior, his voice in the defensive huddle will be the loudest it's ever been.

Identified early, ranked as one of the best 2026s in all of the state that is still currently unoffered. Weight fluctuates between 195 and 210 depending on the season, at a good 210 now. Wiggins proves he can gain weight when necessary, as well as lose it. Witnessed him work in person on Friday nights, witnessed him work up close at our camps. My extensive looks at Wiggins led me to not drop him in our ranks despite many below him out-pacing Wiggins in terms of recruiting heat. Division One measurables, a 4.63 40-time. Wiggins will start for Coatesville at OLB, a position I see him playing at the next level. The Coatesville coaching staff will likely flirt with Wiggins at pure DE/EDGE, likely at tight end too when you consider the exodus of 2023 weapons. The highest ranking Red Raider on the defensive side of the football. The young man is worthy of in-person visits this coming Fall.

6'0, 205 pounds. 4.0 GPA. Debuted on our ranks as a top 250 incoming junior, this without too much tape or production. This rank is pure projection, with [player_tooltip player_id='1249688' first='Zaden' last='Green'] carrying an even higher ceiling than his current rank suggests. Likely a two-way contributor this coming Fall, Green hoping he can elevate his 2023 role at back and backer. Fantastic build, cuts on top of cuts, a fantastic lifter and worker behind the scenes. I'm expecting big things out of Green in 2024, particularly at linebacker. We will see who gets the bulk of the carries behind Hiller, Plant, and McAnally, it very well might be Green who leads the way. That being said, Green has an awesome opportunity to cement himself as a starter at linebacker where he can hunt ball carriers with the same vision and instincts he shows off when the ball is in his hands. His mid-season tape will likely prove to me whether I'm off base on this evaluation.

5'11, 170 pounds. A trustworthy name to deploy in the secondary with Haskett and Richardson moving on. Narrowly missed landing on our 2026 rankings update because of the lack of Hudl tape, yet Hanson posted sophomore tape just six days before writing. Hanson would likely place well among 2026 DBs, with Hanson showing off capable starting outside corner traits. Coatesville has three front-seven starters that can change the direction of a football game, Hanson might be the fourth. Can provide pass coverage and run support reps, unafraid to set edges and make knife tackles in open space. Excited to learn more about this kid.

Small in stature, and not enough tape for me to dissect fully, yet he's a name I'll watch for in hopes of seeing more production in the future. Kelly shows off impressive pass coverage reps downfield, real bump and run capabilities. I can make the case some of Kelly's reps are better than Hanson's. Hopefully, Kelly can provide support on offense as well.
