PRZ Preseason All-Northeast Team Selections, 1st-Team Defense

Introducing the first-ever rollout of Prep Redzone’s Preseason All-Northeast Team Selections. What makes up the Northeast differs depending on who you ask. For us, sites out of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, New England, and Pennsylvania make up the Northeast Region of the nation. These seven sites, along with the 14 states represented among said sites, make up the pool of players we chose to represent the region.

In total, about 125-130 prospects will be honored, with a whopping 350 total being nominated. Analysts here at Prep Redzone make up these selections, with final decisions ultimately falling on my shoulders ( Vic Castillo Vic Castillo RB PA ). Coming up with criteria to paint these young men in the best light is tough, especially when considering how equally talented many of these top prospects are.

Factors that went into account when selecting prospects for teams stretch from recruitment level to tenure, to HS production, to collegiate projection, to measurables, these among many other variables that factor into breaking these prospects into tiers.

Our lists are below with an excerpt attached. Said excerpt relays what PRZ writers have said about the prospect, taken from the most recent post involving said player. Included are the state the prospect resides in, measurables, commitment logos, as well as position and class.
