Friday Nights are upon us! While the upperclassmen, sophomores, and potentially a few freshmen prepare for their varsity battles I want to take the time to turn our spotlight to the freshmen class. Prep Redzone Next has done a great job of finding us a strong group of 2028s and I have personally been able to gather a solid group of my own that have already put themselves on my radar. So let's start to get to know these student athletes as we begin our coverage of their careers and recruitment!

Hendrix is going to be a big time recruit in the Class of 2028. The young playmaker has a massive frame that dwarves his fellow 2028s on the field. Hendrix is also still growing, now tipping the scales at an imposing 225 lbs. With all that size comes a massive mismatch in the strength department. That has shown up all over his highlights as he easily rips through arm tackles unphased. What is more impressive is that at his size the 2028 is still able to pull away from his opponents in the open field. I can't wait to see some up to date film on the impressive TE/ATH recruit. Big things are ahead for him at Wisconsin Dells. Get this kid on your radars today.

Usually we try to wait to write about 2028s until August of their freshman year, but JJ hasn't left us any option but to cover him earlier because he shows up and dominates at camps we host or attend. The rapidly rising freshman QB already holds 1 FBS offer after a great summer of camps and we are sure to see that number grow impressively over the coming years.

On the field, JJ has an elite base of talent to build on and develop. He has a solid frame, quick feet, full body mechanics to create as much velocity behind the ball as needed depending on the window he is targeting. Chapman also has great control over his ball placement and spot on accuracy. The Oak Creek athlete is going to have a lot of talent around him and against him throughout his career to help develop him into a special prospect by 2027. This baller needs to be on recruiting boards today if he isn't already.

Dalton is a QB that looks like he is in a great spot to because the best possible recruit he can be. He has a 6'1" 165 lbs frame, athleticism to gain yards himself or buy time within the pocket, poise to stay in control from snap to whistle, and he attends Catholic Memorial who has been able to develop some of the best athletes that WI has produced. Steiner is able to push the ball down the field with touch and accuracy as he drops dimes over his receivers' shoulders. This is an athlete I will be very excited to see updated film on to see how he has developed during the offseason.

Gavin is looking like one of the best skill position players in the Class of 2028 that we have come across so far. He already was seeing varsity reps in the Franklin scrimmage where he was catching deep dimes from QB Joey Kallay. The freshman has good length for the WR position to be able to go up and high point jump balls and reliable hands to hold on through contact. The freshman wideout also possesses the speed needed to be able to step in and make plays on the varsity field. Looking back on past highlights, it is clear that Gavin won't hesitate to play with physicality and force his way to extra yards by going through a DB. Schiek is an athlete who we could see make Friday night impacts very early in his career.

Carter was able to get highlights from his first HS scrimmage last week, giving us a bit of an updated look at his game. The 5'10" 160 lbs back is a patient runner that will let his blocks develop then attack the hole. He is a one cut back that you won't see dancing in the backfield or making jukes/cuts downfield. Instead he will attack the hole, and then look to break tackles and create yards after contact. The freshman RB gave us a glimpse of soft hands on a big time catch down the field on a play that showed he can move pretty well without the ball in his hands. Check out his highlights from the scrimmage below.
