As we get deeper into the month of August, the 2024 high school football season is almost here! With that in mind, we are currently in another round of rankings updates for the state of Kentucky. After already updating the classes of 2025 and 2026, the class of 2027 rankings update has now been officially published. With that being said, I wanted to take the next week or so to break down these rankings by position. After already covering the quarterbacks and running backs, here are our top wide receivers and tight ends in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky.

[player_tooltip player_id='1311247' first='Brenden' last='Brown'] jumped onto our radar when breaking down freshman year and offseason film. Brown is a very skilled route runner, showing the ability to use quick breaks in his routes to create separation. He also has the speed to blow by defensive backs in the deep passing game and to pick up big gains after the catch. Brenden currently holds offers from Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Murray State , and I expect more to come his way as he is a Power 4 caliber wide receiver prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1200560' first='Demond' last='Green'] is coming off a strong freshman year in which he caught 22 passes for 341 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games. Green has explosive speed which he is able to use to blow by opposing defensive backs to create separation. He is also dangerous after the catch, using his speed and elusiveness in the open field to pick up big gains. Green also finished last season with two kickoff returns for touchdowns. Demond currently holds offers from Eastern Kentucky, Miami (OH), Toledo, Kent State, Ohio, and Akron, and I expect more to come his way as I believe he is a Power 4 caliber prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='466365' first='Ja'Hyde' last='Brown'] is a receiver who has jumped onto our radar this offseason. He found a role in the CAL offense last season, catching nine passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games. Brown is a very impressive route runner, showing the ability to use his speed and quickness to create separation with ease. He also has the athleticism to go up and catch passes at their highest point, even with tight coverage around him. Brown has also proven to be a reliable returner on special teams. Ja'Hyde currently holds offers from Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Missouri State, Toledo, and Miami (OH), and I expect more to come his way as he is a Power 4 caliber prospect with three years to continue to develop.

[player_tooltip player_id='408628' first='Jordan' last='Holman'] is a player who caught my attention when breaking down freshman year film. He is a skilled route runner on the outside, showing the ability to use smooth breaks in his routes to create separation. After the catch, he has shown the speed and elusiveness in the open field to pick up extra yards. Holman currently holds an offer from Kentucky and I expect more to come his way as he will look to be in a bigger role after transferring from Trinity to Woodford County for his sophomore year.

To wrap up our top five wide receivers in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='1200706' first='Tyler' last='Fryman']. Fryman is coming off a very impressive freshman year in which he caught 47 passes for 1,052 yards and 10 touchdowns in 14 games. He is electric with ball in his hands, showing the speed and elusiveness in the open field to turn short passes into big plays at any given moment. Fryman also ran the ball 18 times for 191 yards and seven touchdowns, and came away with three interceptions last season. Tyler is committed to play baseball at Louisville but should still be a player to watch on the gridiron over the next few seasons.
