The top ranked running back currently from our #TN2026 class is this Knoxville area ball carrier that has a nice combo of power, size and speed that would work well on the collegiate playing stage. Holding offers from a bevy of Power Four and D1 schools, Thompson is a prime candidate to contend for Mr. Football on the 6A level this year while attempting to lead the state in rushing. The Bulldogs junior prospect will be keyed on by multiple defenses this year but that shouldn't stop Thompson from bursting out onto the national scene further and continuing to boost his stock as the top back in the state.

(RB) [player_tooltip player_id='829107' first='Marcelles' last='Davis'] - Houston (2nd ranked RB/19th overall)

- Fighting for the top spot at running back in our #TN2026 class, Davis is a well balanced ball player that brings a versatile skill set to the field along with some of the best athleticism you can find from our junior running back class. Looking over film and off-season clips, Davis shows some of the best burst, vision and pass catching abilities from all backs in this state. Davis is also well built with a body that can take on more weight. The Mustangs star offensive talent steps into the lead role this year after learning behind a D1 signee, poised for a big Fall season that could push him into the Top 15 overall prospects in the state.

(QB) [player_tooltip player_id='222957' first='Briggs' last='Cherry'] - Baylor

- Ranking 20th overall, Cherry is considered a top level talent but he still needs to prove it within competition. He has gained snaps but has yet to be “the guy”, however that will change this Fall as this 6 '3 gunslinger takes over the reins at quarterback with a talented team around him. What stands out about Cherry is of course his size but it's his powerful right arm that shows potential to make all the throws asked for by a collegiate signal caller. He is also a good athlete too that always shows poise in the pocket. It will be fun to see how Cherry performs and progresses this Fall and if he can lead his Baylor squad to a possible D2-Class AAA state title.

(OL) [player_tooltip player_id='866469' first='Austin' last='Hoane'] - Cookeville

- Hoane has been one of the hottest recruits in the state this off-season when it comes to stellar camp performances and boosting his stock towards becoming a D1 guy. Coming in ranked 21st overall and the 3rd placed O-lineman, Hoane is rock solid on the field with some of the best feet in the state along with the ability to play tackle or slide inside. The Cavs junior lineman has technique sound, and physical game that translates well to the D1 level and schools are starting to see that as Hoane landed a recent offer from Memphis. Expect several others to jump into the mix sooner than later with this Mid-Tennessee blocker that could develop into a multi year college starter one day.

Tall and long with a wide radius and tremendous natural athletic abilities, Wyatt has a high ceiling for the next level but is still a work in progress as we head into the 2024 season. This 6'4 wideout could has as much upside as anybody from our #TN2026 class. Wyatt is a bouncy athlete that has the ability to make wow plays anywhere on the field along with the radius to swallow up smaller defensive backs. Coming out of the Webb School, Wyatt doesn't see the competition as others do, so he will need to dominate when out there to make himself more appealing to collegiate coaches. It will be interesting to see how he progresses over the coming year and if he reaches his ultimate capabilities.

(OG/C) [player_tooltip player_id='402530' first='Camden' last='Goforth'] - McMinn Co.

- Everybody across this state within the recruiting landscape has heard about Goforth and it's well warranted as this East Tennessee O-lineman has every tool in the bag to develop into a starting center or guard on the collegiate gridiron. The Cherokees junior prospect plays a physical brand of football with the ultimate motor. He desires and embraces the physical aspect of the college but is also quite athletic as well. Those traits together make Goforth a very intriguing prospect for the next level. He could be considered the best interior O-line prospect for the junior class. Many eyes will be on Goforth this season to see how his potential continues to play out on the field and how soon bigger schools take notice.

(QB) [player_tooltip player_id='480742' first='Kelvin' last='Perkins'] - Southwind

- Our top dual threat ranked quarterback is this Memphis area product, who is really a pass first guy that looks to push the ball down field before anything else. Perkins is a poised quarterback behind center that shows nice arm talent along with upside with anticipation and timing. Coming off winning Mr. Football as a sophomore, the Jaguars signal caller returns this season with a lot of eyes on him and big expectations. Perkins has the kind of mature mindset to handle the pressure and succeed with the possibility of pushing his Jaguars team into the 5A title game. If he does that, his stock will most certainly take a big spike.

(RB) [player_tooltip player_id='471474' first='LeKhy' last='Thompkins'] - TCA

- A multi year starter since his freshman season, Thompkins returns this Fall as a top contender for Mr. Football on the D2-Class A level as well as a Top Three ranked ball carrier for the #TN2026 class. The Lions junior product is a big dude with the ball in his hands however he doesn't bring just power and size to the table but Thompkins runs well too, showing a gliding, smooth running style with deceptive speed. Several schools across the college landscape have already offered and gotten on board with this guy but I think Thompkins can boost his stock even further with shown enhancement with his skills as well as high level production for the third year in a row.

(WR) [player_tooltip player_id='1170988' first='Cam' last='Blivens'] - Lipscomb Academy

- Many across the football landscape may not know too much about this Nashville based receiver yet but they should after the coming Fall season. What Blivens can be is the next stud recruit to come out of the Mustangs program, if he continues to develop at a proper rate. Standing 6 '2 180 pounds, Blivens brings a nice mix of size and natural athletic abilities to the gridiron that translate well to the collegiate level. He is a big play threat waiting to happen that can work the outside or the slot. All signs point towards Blivens being the go-to, #1 target on offense and if he performs like I think he can, Power Four schools will get involved very quickly.

Starting on the Patriots O-line since his freshman season, Rathbone is as steady as they come and someone you can depend on to do their job game in and game out. Ranked as the 30th overall prospect in our junior class, the Pats big man brings a balanced, versatile game to the field where he could handle all three interior O-line positions. His biggest upside for the college game resides at center and several schools that have already offered, agree with that assessment. Rathbone will not move outside the Top 10 for his position moving forward because of his talent but also because of how consistent he plays. Look for bigger schools to get involved with this guy as his junior film resonates across the country.

- These top six receivers all rank inside our initial Top 30 for the junior class with King leading the way as the top ranked wideout. All six of these guys are destined for the Power Four or D1 level with several of them sporting the potential to make it into the pro league one day. Five of the receivers above hold Power Four offers in hand, except for Blivens, who will land them over time. Who has the most upside? That answer could be Wyatt but all six listed here have outstanding upside for the college game.

- Sitting behind the top six are these Top 100 ranked wideouts that have excellent potential for the next level as well. Bender is the next ranked wideout and one of the receivers in this class with some of the best upside of all due to his size and natural athletic abilities. Carroll is the next stud prospect to come out of the Cleveland program. He already holds a couple of D1 offers and his list should expand after a big junior season. Oak Ridge junior [player_tooltip player_id='331829' first='Will' last='Pressley'] has a chance to push for the top slot receiver in this class with a breakout junior year. He should be the team's go-to target along with a talented rising sophomore tight end. Greeneville has been putting out some good talent at receiver over the years and Anderson looks like the next stud to fall in line. Sporting good size and length, Anderson has the skill set to excel on the outside or in the slot.

Clinton will be going through a small transition at quarterback this year but they will have a big and talented wideout in Maddox to throw it to. This East TN talent stands 6'5 180 pounds plus with a wide radius and deceptive speed. Many people don't know about White, Jr right now but if all goes according to plan this season, you will be this time next year. The Spartans rising junior has some serious talent along with nice size that translates well to the college game. A possible stock riser in our next updated rankings is [player_tooltip player_id='966033' first='Brandon' last='Goliday']. Elusive and fast are two traits that stand out about Goliday but he is also a gamer that tends to make tough catches in traffic.

TE's

[player_tooltip player_id='402535' first='Derreon' last='Rogers'] - Germantown (4th ranked TE/76th overall)

- Our initial look at the tight ends for the #TN2026 class doesn't show much depth but that can definitely change over the next year. Sneed is your top guy for the tight ends and that will remain the case moving forward. Standing 6 '6 245 pounds, Sneed is a big dude that moves well and has just about every Power Four school in the country in pursuit. Wilt is a very intriguing talent that has yet to breakout but could this coming season. He sports college size and shows on off-season clips the ability to run and get open on a consistent basis. The most athletic tight end in this class is [player_tooltip player_id='856164' first='Ayden' last='Sadler'] but he is still far from a finished product. The Hawks junior is a versatile pass catcher that can line up at receiver in a variety of spots. Rogers out of Germantown is almost built in the same way. The one difference with him and Sadler is the fact that Rogers has an already well built body that is closer to competing on the college stage.

[player_tooltip player_id='853121' first='Jacob' last='Rathbone'] - Page (6th ranked OL/30th overall)

- These six O-linemen have already been well talked about and it's for good reason. All six here are future Power Four or D1 guys that will not leave our Top 10 O-line rankings moving forward. Smith, Osenda and Humphrey are all offensive tackle prospects with Hoane being a swing guy that can play both on the outside and in the interior. Goforth and Rathbone are true interior guys with both having the versatility to play both guard positions and center. All six could be named 1st team All-State performers by season's end.

[player_tooltip player_id='944767' first='Kamari' last='Blair'] - Kirkwood (7th ranked OL/32nd overall)

[player_tooltip player_id='926104' first='Charlie' last='Edgeworth'] - Baylor (9th ranked OL/40th overall)

[player_tooltip player_id='425182' first='Andre' last='Amos, Jr'] - Germantown (10th ranked OL/47th overall)

[player_tooltip player_id='1136472' first='Daniel' last='Cepicky'] - Columbia Acad. (11th ranked OL/57th overall)

- The next grouping of O-linemen have a nice mix of athleticism, size and O-line versatility with all five guys destined for college ball. Blair has tremendous upside but is still a work in progress, however his off-season work has been outstanding and I think you will see a breakthrough this year. Sherrod is one of the top center prospects in the state, holding offers already from Memphis, Tulane and others. He is a rock solid, steady performer that could play some guard if needed.

[player_tooltip player_id='926104' first='Charlie' last='Edgeworth'] is a massive human being (6'7 310) that is a good athlete for his size. He could develop to play right tackle but his best upside might reside inside at guard. Cepicky is a violent competitor that plays with a mean streak. He too is a deceptive athlete that could develop at right tackle but could also excel at guard as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1206520' first='Xavier' last='Wade'] - Baylor (12th ranked OL/58th overall)

[player_tooltip player_id='1115191' first='Richard' last='Thigpen'] - Ensworth (13th ranked OL/61st overall)

[player_tooltip player_id='981349' first='Ethan' last='Harris'] - Green Hill (14th ranked OL/67th overall)

[player_tooltip player_id='941638' first='Ton'Reon' last='Brazelton'] - Bearden (15th ranked OL/83rd overall)

[player_tooltip player_id='1100917' first='Kennedy' last='Jackson'] - Blackman (16th ranked OL/85th overall)

- A new talent to the state of Tennessee and to the Baylor O-line, Wade is a wide bodied beast up front that could handle several roles across the Red Raiders front five. Thigpen is built in basically the same way. The Tigers junior has excellent size (6'6 310) with upside to become an outstanding guard on the collegiate gridiron. Green Hill should have a gamechanger up front over the next two years with Harris. The Hawks junior two-way lineman is penciled in at guard or center for the college level but Harris is an athletic guy that could develop at defensive tackle as well. Brazelton is a people mover that fits the guard role perfectly. Jackson is a physical but athletic interior O-lineman that could handle all three interior positions but his best upside could sit at center.
