Riverdale Shuts Out Father Ryan 35-0

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It was an action-packed week two of high school football action in Tennessee as I stopped by Murfreesboro for a Friday night matchup between Father Ryan and Riverdale. The Warriors would be victorious, recording a 35-0 shutout of the Irish to improve to 1-1 on the season. Hampton was extremely impressive, showing that he's not afraid to throw the ball. Hampton's passing was spot on all night, overwhelming Father Ryan's defense with his pin-point accuracy in the air. Reynolds came in clutch at multiple moments in the game, hauling in several crucial passes. Emmons caught my attention defensively, proving his ability to shut down offensive production. Tritch might be a prospect to know in the future as he was a major contributor offensively against the Irish. On top of excellent size and speed off the handoff, Peters caught my attention with his strong footwork, proving he can juke out the defense on the run and punch his way into the endzone. Vaughn was unstoppable on the offensive end, playing a crucial role for the Warriors on the ground. Vaughn had no issues running through Father Ryan's defense twice in the first half, putting up two touchdowns for Riverdale. The Warriors held a 7-0 lead with 7:41 left in the first quarter. The Irish would struggle on both sides of the ball early on as Riverdale's defense was locked in from start to finish. Riverdale would soon extend their lead as an impressive pass from [player_tooltip player_id='1287058' first='Gavin' last='Hampton'] to [player_tooltip player_id='1103005' first='Corben' last='Reynolds'] resulted in another touchdown for the Warriors. Riverdale held a 14-0 lead with 1:35 remaining in the first quarter. The Warriors continued to dominate in the second quarter as Vaughn would run in his second touchdown of the night to give Riverdale a 21-0 lead over Father Ryan with 7:17 left in the second quarter. The Irish started to get going offensively, getting within field goal range before [player_tooltip player_id='1151463' first='Ayden' last='Emmons'] hauled in the interception to give Riverdale one more scoring opportunity before the half. The Warriors would indeed capitalize as Hampton found [player_tooltip player_id='1538130' first='Luke' last='Tritch'] deep in the backfield for the touchdown pass. Riverdale was up 28-0 on Father Ryan at halftime. Riverdale continued to dominate in the second half as [player_tooltip player_id='1643688' first='Chris' last='Peters'] broke the entire Irish defense, punching his way into the endzone for yet another Warriors score. Riverdale would go on to shutout Father Ryan 35-0 to improve to 1-1 on the season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
