PRZPA Team Preview, Central York

<p><strong>Last Season Update:</strong> Central York has been the class of the York-Adams League for several years. They have at times dominated the league. As far as on the state level they have been one of the best teams the last three years. They have a record of 41-5 in the last 3 years. Last year they started the season going 11-0 until they lost to Harrisburg 28-21 in the 2nd round of the PIAA Playoffs.</p>   <p><strong>Current Head Coach</strong>: Gerry Yonchiuk (Entering 5th Year)</p>   <p><strong>Key returning players for the 2024 season: </strong></p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='386144' first='Saxton' last='Suchanic'] is one of the best prospects in the state of Pennsylvania. He is a legit cornerback with great coverage skills. He just locks down defenders when matched up one-on-one. He is also good at zone coverage as well. Suchanic recruiting has heated up this spring and he recently committed to Uconn to play College Football. Suchanic has the skills to play at the next level. He can play in space as a defender, which is hard to find. Frey's recruitment also has started to heat up with up to 3 scholarship offers as of now. Below is what I wrote about him earlier this year: </p>   <p>"<strong>[player_tooltip player_id='599033' first='Tyler' last='Frey']</strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/tyler-frey/"></a> is one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2025 class. He is a hybrid athlete who can play as either an outside linebacker or as a strong safety. He has good speed, athleticism, and strength. Frey is a good prospect that at our Prep Redzone Showcase, he made 1st team all camp. Frey should be an even bigger contributor next season. I saw him work out at our Prep Redzone Showcase and I was blown away by how talented a prospect he is. It is rare to see a defensive lineman prospect with his speed, athleticism, and strength. He has all the tools to play at the next level. Since the showcase, he has picked up several offers and recently committed to Monmouth. He has the size and accuracy to kick at a high level in college. Parker was 11 out of 14 on field goals with a long of 51 yards. Plus 81% of kickoffs resulted in touchbacks. Parker committed to Penn State as a Preferred Walk-On. He has a chance to play at a high level for Central York next season and for his recruitment to blow up. Bowers is the type of prospect that with a Senior year will get a ton of Colleges checking him out. Below is what I wrote about him earlier this year:</p>   <p>"<strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1054391' first='Micah' last='Bowers']</strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/micah-bowers/"></a> is a hard-hitting linebacker. He does a great job of recognizing the play and then coming upfield to make the play in or near the line of scrimmage. He is an outstanding tackler, especially in the open field. Bowers is also good in coverage. He is equally as good at covering man-to-man or dropping in a zone. He does a nice job of getting his hands on the ball to make a play. Bowers is an outstanding linebacker"</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Micah_b21/status/1755082538505105711 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1155887' first='Colin' last='Gurley'] is a prospect who will continue to rise in the recruiting circles. Gurley can do it all from the tight-end position. He catches the ball extremely well, in limited opportunities. He shows he understands route concepts well and how to find the opening in the zone. As a blocker, he shows that he can block in a variety of ways. He is a big physical blocker who locks down on defenders who he blocks. Gurley recently picked up his 1st offer from St. Francis, I expect more to come his way. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/ColinGurley56/status/1796715058262594017 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='598896' first='Nasir' last='Ruppert'] is a good athlete in the 2025 class. He has great size (6'3 inches tall) and uses his size well. He is someone who I expect to have a big year for Central York this year on both sides of the ball. Below is what I wrote about him earlier this year:</p>   <p>"<strong>[player_tooltip player_id='598896' first='Nasir' last='Ruppert']</strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/nasir-ruppert/"></a> is a big physical athlete who played as a wide receiver and as a safety last year. As a wide receiver, he ran good routes and caught the ball well. He shows the ability to get in and out of breaks and find the soft opening in the zone. He then goes and catches the ball well. He is a good after-the-catch when he makes defenders miss. As a defensive back, Ruppert did an excellent job in providing run support. He is a good tackler in the open field. Ruppert is a good prospect that has a ton of potential"</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/NasirRuppert/status/1805432008299921678 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1155802' first='Brooklyn' last='Nace'] is someone I had read and heard about last year, but it wasn't until I saw him play in the PIAA Playoffs that I came away impressed with the prospect. 1st he can make all the throws. He has a short and compact delivery in the pocket. 2nd is how poise. He never seems rushed or out of control when he plays. Nace also is a good athlete who can move around and make plays with his feet. Nace has all the tools to play at the next level.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Bnace8/status/1807857888867844395 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Quintin Dolly is a talented defensive tackle for Central York. He does a good job at not being moved off his spot. He is good, especially against the run by attacking offensive linemen and pushing them into the offensive backfield. He also has a motor that never stops as he chases down plays all over the field. Dolly is a good defensive tackle who should only improve going into his Junior year. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1559700' first='Brendyn' last='Smith'] has limited film and it is from Junior Varsity, but he showed he has some good skills to play as a wide receiver or a defensive back. Smith catches the ball well in between defenders and does an excellent job of running routes. As a defensive back he shows good coverage skills. They have won 33 straight league games, the last loss came in 2018 against rival William Penn. They have also won 5 straight Division 1 Title in the York-Adams League. Central York should be the favorite to win their 6th straight York-Adams League title. </p>
