July Check-In: Out Of State New Yorkers

<p>The High School transfers are really slowing down because we are getting much closer to the season, and there is not much news in terms of prospects moving schools and instantly getting a recruiting boost. This month features more prospects doing post-grad years who had really strong camp performances and picked up offers. Multiple prospects who either moved to New England schools for Post-Grad years or have been in New England for a while had a strong month in which we see a couple of big offers followed by two commitments from prospects from NY, one who just finished a strong career with Iona Prep. </p>   <p>Take a look at last month check in on out-of-state NY prospects <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2024/06/june-check-in-out-of-state-new-york-prospects/">HERE</a></p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Offers</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Sigda, who is doing a post-grad year at East Coast Prep and played his HS ball at LaSalle Institute in Section II, is a big TE prospect who picked up his first offer from Drake University. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Maijeh, who played his last ball at Canarsie and Christ the King in New York, will play with the Berkshire School in the 2026 season. He just picked up an offer from Georgetown which came not long after his performance at camp at Georgetown. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Pitcher, who was once one of Section II's top players at CBA-Albany, moved to Suffield Academy, where he has played a lot of safety. Pitcher has been picking up some offers recently but just picked one from his hometown DI school, Albany in addition to an offer from Maine at the end of the month. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Carey, who is recruited nationally and one of the top players in the country, especially at the defensive line position, picked up offers from the University of Buffalo and UCF this month. Carey has 30+ full scholarship offers, and the former St. Anthony's defensive tackle is one of the top players to come out of New York in recent history.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Clarke, who moved from Monsignor Farrell to the Hun School and reclassified to the 2026 class earlier this year, has picked up multiple FBS and FCS offers through the summer. Clarke, an athletic EDGE prospect, picked up an offer from Boston College in early July.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Formerly of Rye HS in New York McSweeney spent this past season with Avon Old Farms and he looks to be a big part of their offense this upcoming fall. Also, a very strong track athlete McSweeney has had a very strong summer with multiple D1 offers coming his way. His most recent comes from Marist the 5th division I program to offer McSweeney. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Commitments</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='839981' first='Ozzy' last='Diallo'], originally from Yonkers but has played varsity ball with the Taft School, committed to Georgetown after fielding offers from a couple of FCS schools. Diallo is a physical OLB/Edge prospect who is one of the top players in New England.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Nartey, who recently moved from Iona Prep to Suffield Academy for a post-grad year, has picked up a couple of offers since his move but has committed to Columbia. Last year, Nartey was one of the top safety prospects in the CHSFL. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Eber, a prospect from Salisbury who is a native New Yorker, is a player I missed in our first edition of checking in on these NY prospects out of state, but he has had a very strong spring. The Salisbury DE has picked up offers from 15 D1 offers in 2024, and the most recent is from Elon, which he picked up earlier this month. <br><br>While Eber could be on this list for the Elon offer, he just announced his commitment to Georgetown, where he will join Diallo in the nation's capital. The Hoyas already have 6 N.Y. natives on their roster and will add two more from NY. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Transfers</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='505531' first='Malichi' last='Greaves'] was part of Christ the King's mass exodus after the 2022 season, during which he found himself at Wyoming Seminary in PA. Greaves will move to St. Thomas More, joining former teammates CTK [player_tooltip player_id='505518' first='Jourdin' last='Houston'] and [player_tooltip player_id='505519' first='Tyler' last='Partlow']. Greaves can play both RB or DB and his short-area quickness and burst will be a good addition to an already strong St. Thomas More team.</p>
