[player_tooltip player_id='378926' first='Davion' last='Jones'] - West Charlotte

Davion broke out onto the scene last season in a huge way, becoming a go-to receiver for the Lions' attack and making a lot of big plays in some very important games for the Lions. After an impressive freshman season, Davion received offers from Virginia Tech and Troy University. At 6'0 and 170 pounds, Davion can also play some defensive back as well. Davion is also an impressive track athlete, running with similar times to the top track runners in his conference in the 100-meter dash. Watching him live last season, Davion can get behind cornerbacks in single coverage and is a home run threat on the deep ball. Davion also shows some impressive vertical ability in jump-ball 1 on 1 situations.

[player_tooltip player_id='1106577' first='Otavio' last='Oliveira'] - Providence

At 6'0 and 160 pounds, Otavio has jumped on the radar of college programs already. With offers from Houston Christian, Boston College, SMU, East Carolina, Arkansas State, Charlotte, Marshall, Connecticut, and interest from other colleges, Otavio is a name to know across the state of North Carolina from a recruiting perspective. Looking at his highlights, Otavio is a very good slot receiver who shows excellent speed in the open field. He shows a high level of knowledge in knowing where to sit in holes in zone coverage already, and his acceleration from a stopped position is very impressive. I can see why Otavio has the interest he does, he is ahead of the game coming off of his freshman season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150380' first='Steele' last='Fletcher'] - Providence Day

At 5'8 and 140 pounds, Steele had a highly productive freshman season on a team that did not have a ton of offensive threats. Steele has changed schools to Providence Day for this upcoming season. An opposing head coach told me that Steele will be a name that Charlotte will know very well over the next three years. Taking a look at his highlight film, Steele shows some excellent speed and agility all over the field. As a receiver, Steele can be involved in the run game off of jet sweeps and reverses. He shows excellent vision with the football in his hands, as this is also shown as both a kick returner and punt returner. However, Steele shows the footwork and acumen to run a variety of routes from both the outside receiver positions and in the slot. He is coached very well. Steele also has some college attention, with offers currently from Maryland, Charlotte, and Jacksonville State.

[player_tooltip player_id='1239187' first='Caleb' last='Cooper'] - Providence Day

Caleb can easily be put in an Athlete category since there are so many things he does well on the field from playing running back, wide receiver, and some defensive back and possibly linebacker in his future. However, after watching some highlights of him, I think he can make an immediate impact as a wide receiver. At 6'1 and 195 pounds, Caleb was a highly evaluated player in Tennessee and comes into a talented program at Providence Day. Caleb currently has an offer from UNLV and some interest from other colleges. As far as his strengths go, Caleb excels in high-pointing the football in one-on-one situations as a receiver. He has an excellent vertical jump and very strong hands - every time I see Caleb catch the ball, it is all hands and no body. I'm excited to see how he progresses here throughout his career.

[player_tooltip player_id='1125763' first='Alex' last='Haywood'] - Providence

I saw Alex up close on two occasions, and he was probably the most dominant wide receiver I saw on JV last season in Charlotte. Alex had 600 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns in his JV season, and he probably could have had more if he didn't have some other good teammates who made plays as well. At 6'5 and 205 pounds, Alex uses his height to his advantage to win against smaller defensive backs in jump ball situations. But, Alex is a lot more than that. Alex also runs some good routes and shows good speed in the open field and beats defensive backs over the top on deep balls down the field. With his frame, it is possible to see Alex become a vertical tight-end prospect, and that would be a nightmare for linebackers and safeties if he develops that way in the coming years. Alex also has some strong hands and can provide a quarterback a nice catch radius for any pass. Alex does have some college interest from in-state schools at the moment.
