2025 Summer Rankings Update: New to the Top 150

<p><strong><em>For a discounted subscription to view all of our content, use Code PRZWV30 at checkout for 30% off!</em></strong></p>   <p>The 2025 rankings have grown by 50 since our Spring Update as 200 of the best prospects in West Virginia are now represented on our site. 8 new prospects to the rankings have debuted inside of the Top 150 since our spring update as new info, transfers into the state, and college offers have gone out to some previous Watch List prospects since the spring. Here are the 8 new prospects who made their debut in the 2025 summer rankings update. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>NEW TO THE TOP 150</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">The Bigelow Brothers made headlines when they announced that they would be transferring from St. James (MD) to Fairmont Senior to meet up with cousin and Top 10 2025 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='487106' first='Trevor' last='Bigelow'] this season. Older brother [player_tooltip player_id='1158298' first='Hunter' last='Bigelow'] will start his journey in WV as a Top 35 prospect in the class and the #5 LB in a deep linebacker pool this cycle. He was a LB Top Performer at our combine event in May and just recently picked up his first D1 offer for football from Morehead State as well as some lacrosse opportunities at that level as well. In the 6'2 220 size range, Bigelow has the ideal frame for a middle linebacker and plays the position how you picture a throwback MLB would play it. </p>   <p class="text-gray-700">We'll get a better gauge of his ability and talent level this season with Fairmont Senior as they're poised for another deep playoff run. As we become more familiar with his game in WV, Bigelow could increase his stock by the time the final rankings update comes out after the season. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/B1gelowHunter/status/1806402327592763746 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">We typically don't like to make projections this late into the rankings cycle, but sometimes you have to make exceptions with prospects you know are going to have a breakout year. That's the case with 2025 Martinsburg WR [player_tooltip player_id='1293973' first='Kyree' last='Bunny'] who should have a much bigger role this season for the defending state champion Bulldogs who graduated several of their top receivers. More known for his work on the basketball court at this time, Bunny has a very high ceiling as a football prospect and will likely showcase that this fall. We don't have a ton of film of him to evaluate right now, but at 6'4 and the athleticism that he possesses, Bunny's potential on the football field warranted some notoriety heading into his senior season.</p>   <p>We'll get a much better idea of his game this season, but our gut feeling on Bunny will likely prove to be correct this season and an under-the-radar name in the football world to keep your eyes on this fall.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Kyree_b1/status/1804713557231100405 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">2025 Weir quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1259785' first='Lucas' last='McAllister'] has been a frequent visitor at camps this off-season as we've had the chance to see how he's progressed since his sophomore season at nearby Weirton Madonna. McAllister had a one-year hiatus across the river at perennial Ohio power Steubenville but is now back in the Mountain State for his final year. Without much game film from his junior year, McAllister may be a bit of an unknown to some in the state. However, from seeing him in person multiple times at camps this summer, we know firsthand where he's currently at and is primed for a breakout senior year for the Red Riders. McAllister impressed so much at the West Liberty prospect camp that the home-standing Hilltoppers offered him on the spot without waiting for more recent game film to become available. He's been one of the top passers at all three camps we've seen him at this year and will debut as a Top 10 QB for now with the potential to climb higher with a strong senior season.</p>   <p>Although you may be unfamiliar with him right now, keep your eyes on McAllister this fall where he's sure to open more.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/LucasMac125/status/1798913444642697400 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Another projection that we believe will have a big senior year is 2025 Bridgeport DB [player_tooltip player_id='1306464' first='Alex' last='Moses']. He's another prospect who doesn't have much game film available, but we are aware of his talent level. Moses will see his share of carries on offense as well in the Indians' single-wing system but his potential as a defensive back is high. We've seen some game clips, 7 on 7, and camp highlights from Moses that gave us some idea of what he's capable of, but we'll know more once he posts more game film on Hudl. Moses appears to have game-breaking speed and can be a home run hitter on offense when he touches the ball as a running back with pass-catching ability as well. Moses earned a DB MVP award at a camp earlier this summer and another defensive MVP at the Hero DMV 7on7 event back in March. </p>   <p>Where Moses eventually ends up in the finals rankings update after the season will be determined by what game film he has available, but he's deserving of recognition heading into his senior year.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Alex12Moses/status/1805759431163945226 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Our final prospect projection without any game film is new 2025 St. Albans DB [player_tooltip player_id='1307478' first='Malcolm' last='Maxwell'] who transferred in from Georgia for his senior year with the Red Dragons. Maxwell picked up his first offer from WV State back in June as he begins to make a name for himself in West Virginia as a fresh face. Maxwell was another DB MVP award winner back in May at the GCOH Camp Series with Moses who also has a high ceiling at the position. We've gotten to see some clips from Maxwell in a 7 on 7 setting which doesn't tell the full picture but at least gives us some idea of the kind of athlete he is. In the clips available, Maxwell appears to be a rangy athlete with quality speed and quickness on both sides of the ball with the ability to go up and make a play on the ball in the air. </p>   <p class="text-gray-700">He'll debut inside of the 2025 Top 100 for now, but where he finishes will depend on the game film available after this upcoming season. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/malcolmmax_/status/1802039266358288573 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">One of the more underrated players in the state who you may not know is 2025 Lincoln WR [player_tooltip player_id='1126321' first='Aidan' last='Rice']. We couldn't find any social media presence for Rice on X, but his junior highlight tape warranted a placement inside of the top 150 and a Top 25 WR ranking. He's a long athlete at 6'3 with a track background where he placed inside of the Top 15 in the 110m hurdles at the WVSSAC State Track & Field Championships this spring. Rice's playmaking ability on the football field at his size is impressive as a fluid athlete who doesn't move how many 6'3 athletes typically move. He has the typical catch radius and leaping ability that athletes his size usually do, but Rice's ability after the catch isn't the norm. He has great balance and the speed to runaway from defenders in the open field which also aids his ability to create separation during his routes. </p>   <p>Rice may very well still be underrated at his current ranking and has the potential to enter the Top 100 as the Cougars' likely #1 option in the passing game this season.</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">2025 Princeton LB [player_tooltip player_id='909002' first='Jordan' last='Cooper'] has been on the cusp of being ranked for a while now and we're finally getting him placed inside of the Top 150. We love the way Cooper plays the game as a thumping downhill linebacker who can play every LB position and has the versatility as a pass rusher or run stopper with the ability to drop into a zone on passing plays. Cooper is a highly physical player who is very stout when making plays at the line of scrimmage and does a nice job tackling through ball carriers and driving them backward. He has great pad level and leverages himself well putting him in a good position to make a play with square shoulders. Cooper has quality athleticism that allows him to make plays in pass coverage at times or make a tackle in space but is at his best near the LOS and getting downhill. Length is the one trait that hurts his ceiling a bit, but Cooper's style of play makes up for it and should be a prospect that D2 schools are targeting. </p>   <p>He's still likely underrated at his current ranking and another strong season this fall as a senior could place him much higher. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/cooper_jordan23/status/1804545957305999657 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">We recently broke down 2025 Bluefield DB [player_tooltip player_id='909080' first='Jeffrey' last='King']'s game in our <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2024/06/2024-team-preview-bluefield-beavers/">Bluefield Team Preview </a>and said that he would place in the rankings during the summer update. We kept our word and King is now considered a Top 150 player and among the 15 best defensive backs in the state for his class. King is an underrated prospect in our eyes and is deserving of more attention from D2 programs in the state and region with just one offer from nearby Bluefield State last year. King is a versatile safety prospect whose body could transform in a number of ways once he's in a college strength program and could develop into primarily a box safety with his size and style of play.</p>   <p>We expect King to pick up more attention from colleges during his senior year and is a no doubt scholarship-level prospect in our eyes.</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Cabell Midland offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1126404' first='Matthew' last='Edwards'] is a prospect that we've liked for a while, but we had some size concerns about how he translated as a college prospect. After attending some camps this off-season, Edwards picked up his first football offer from WV State so his size must not be of grave concern to D2 programs. He also has a very good wrestling and track & field background as a thrower who could choose to play any of those sports at the next level as well. Linemen with wrestling and throwing experience always make us think more highly of them and oftentimes give them an edge over those who don't. Edwards' play on the field shows a lot of good things in the two-game sample size we were able to watch on his Hudl and if he were just a bit bigger he'd have offers from all over. </p>   <p>Once we see more game film from Edwards and how he's grown since last year, his stock could rise after this season in our final rankings update and as a college prospect. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/matthew00588238/status/1801069197226655979 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Another underrated prospect who has finally made his debut inside of our Top 150 is Lincoln County WR [player_tooltip player_id='1126343' first='Drew' last='Banks']. Banks saw a lot of time at running back as well last season and is just a pure playmaker for the Panthers who lead the team in rushing and receiving with just under 900 total all-purpose yards and 5 touchdowns. He could be moved to the ATH position in our rankings eventually, but Banks' most natural position may be at receiver at the next level with the potential to play on the defensive side of the ball as a DB too. Banks picked up his first offer from WV State back in June as he begins to get on college radars heading into his senior season and is likely the type of athlete who will impress in a camp setting. </p>   <p>An under-the-radar player at a program of the same description, Banks should be primed for yet another productive season as a senior as the Panthers' main offense with the potential to put up some eye-catching numbers in the new Class AAA.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Drew_Banks8/status/1801082080928903471 </div></figure>
