Another linebacker who is seeing his stock rise this season is Princeton’s

Cooper is a versatile linebacker who can play inside or outside for the Tigers but feels like a MLB at the next level. He’s proven to have the ability to stop the run between the tackles when in the middle but has also shown he can come off the edge to rush the passer and create pressure as well. Cooper’s frame lends towards staying in the middle in college but the versatility he’s shown in high school should intrigue more D2 programs. He’s a physical downhill player who sniffs out the run well and has the strength to make plays at the line of scrimmage. Cooper has received local college interest but more programs around the state need to get in on his recruitment.

returns as a defensive leader for the Tigers again this season and produced a very good junior campaign in 2023. He recently debuted inside of our 2025 Top 200 rankings and could bolster his position in them with another strong year. Cooper picked up offers from both colleges in Bluefield this summer and should receiver more D2 attention this season as a still underrated player in Southern WV.
Here’s what we recently said about Cooper in our 2025 rankings New Additions article:

has been on the cusp of being ranked for a while now and we’re finally getting him placed inside of the Top 150. We love the way Cooper plays the game as a thumping downhill linebacker who can play every LB position and has the versatility as a pass rusher or run stopper with the ability to drop into a zone on passing plays. Cooper is a highly physical player who is very stout when making plays at the line of scrimmage and does a nice job tackling through ball carriers and driving them backward. He has great pad level and leverages himself well putting him in a good position to make a play with square shoulders. Cooper has quality athleticism that allows him to make plays in pass coverage at times or make a tackle in space but is at his best near the LOS and getting downhill. Length is the one trait that hurts his ceiling a bit, but Cooper’s style of play makes up for it and should be a prospect that D2 schools are targeting.”

He’s still likely underrated at his current ranking and another strong season this fall as a senior could place him much higher.

I really like this Princeton linebacking corps who are all kind of carbon copies of each other. None of them are particularly big but they play very hard and are all tough players. Junior OLB

is another example of that at 5’11 215 and was just named First-Team AAA All-Coalfield Conference. Cooper showed versatility on film lining up at outside linebacker but he can also slide inside and play the Mike if needed. He’s a physical player who likes to get downhill and deliver a punishing hit. Cooper is stout in run defense but showed he’s athletic enough to line up on a slot receiver and drop into coverage at times. Princeton will really need both of those attributes along with the rest of the Tigers’ linebackers when they face Martinsburg’s big offensive line and lethal running game on Saturday.
