Maple Grove has been a consistent producer of top MN talent and a perennial 6A title contender. This season looks to be no different, the Crimson currently have 6 Division 1 commits on their roster, and a handful of other players who could soon join that exclusive club. Meet some of the stars of the 2024 Maple Grove Crimson!

RB: [player_tooltip player_id='1192021' first='Charles' last='Langama'] 5'9" 205 lbs 2025

Committed To: North Dakota

The #2 RB in the class of 2025 from Minnesota, Langama announced his commitment to UND in May after an insanely successful junior season where he tallied over 1,400 rushing yards with 21 touchdowns on a wild 9.3 YPC. On his tape, he is a comet out of the backfield. Langama breaks through arm tackles, and even more solid form tackles like they're nothing. Yet despite his Powerball frame, Langama is agile and capable of making multiple quick cuts in rapid succession when needed too. He's also shown receiving upside out of the backfield. He's a dangerous weapon for the Crimson and should cause headaches for defensive coordinators next season.

WR/DB: [player_tooltip player_id='586119' first='Dylan' last='Vokal'] 6'2" 200 lbs 2025

Committed To: North Dakota State

Vokal is a do-it-all athlete and I cannot overstate his impact on this team. Last season he led the team in receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, YPC among receivers, had the second most rushing yards, and had 54 tackles. A phenomenal statline by all accounts, and one he looks to improve on as a senior. As a receiver, Vokal is best characterized as a deep threat. He always seems to be one step ahead of the DB and can use his long and lanky arms to extend the catch radius further if he's overthrown. He will burn you over the top and can reliably bring down difficult balls in traffic. Any time he's on the field, he's going to cause headaches for the opposing team.

TE: [player_tooltip player_id='490031' first='Nathan' last='Hromadka'] 6'6" 220 lbs 2025

Committed To: North Dakota

Hromadka's junior season saw him earn First-Team All-District Honors and was named to CCX's All-Area First Team. As a receiving tight end, Hromadka uses his length well going up to high-point balls He rarely gets jammed up at the line of scrimmage. He's a fairly elusive route runner who loses defenders frequently during midlevel crossing routes. When he's called on to block, Hromadka doesn't shy away from violence. He can often be seen teaketteling defensive linemen into each other, creating a massive hole for his ball carrier. I think Hromadka is due for a massive senior year.

ILB: [player_tooltip player_id='363115' first='Jacob' last='Wrbanek'] 6'3" 215 lbs 2025

Committed To: North Dakota State (PWO)

The team leader in tacklers returns for his senior season after he recently committed to FCS powerhouse NDSU. Wrbanek amassed 79 total tackles and 7 TFls as a junior and is in a primed position to build on that success this year. His tape reveals a quick and patient force who lurks across the middle of the field, waiting to strike. Wrbanek shows off plenty of positional versatility and very promising agility. He flows naturally from alley to alley, and I expect that during his senior season, he puts together both an impressive body of tape and eye-popping numbers.

OL: [player_tooltip player_id='362276' first='Michael' last='Wagner'] 6'6" 260 lbs 2025

Committed To: North Dakota

One of the premier offensive linemen in the state, Wagner boasted an impressive 16 D1 offers before he recently committed to North Dakota. On his tape, Wagner is a human highlight reel, capable of demolishing defensive linemen with ease. When he gets to the second level, and he gets there quickly, he will light up whatever poor linebacker is in front of him. One-on-one, there aren't a whole lot of defensive linemen in the state who can successfully compete with him. With low pad level and a powerful frame, Wagner casually creates massive problems for any defender lined up across from him.

LB/RB: Bo Drahiem 6'2" 215 lbs 2025

Committed To: Cornell

Every year Minnesota produces several Ivy League products, which both speak to the high-level football players the state produces, but also how intelligent some of these players are. As a junior Drahiem put up a versatile statline of 61 TTck, 11 TFLs, 1.0 Sack, 1 FR, and 1 PBU. He also tallied 188 receiving yards on offense. When Drahiem is defending, he's quick and menacing across the middle of the field. He fills gaps in an instant, and rocks ball carriers when they meet him in the hole. Drahiem has the speed of a defensive back and can be seen hawking down RBs multiple times on his tape. He should play a key role in this Crimson defense next season.

DB: [player_tooltip player_id='1204368' first='Jack' last='Weigel'] 6'1" 165 lbs 2025

Offers: Minnesota State Moorhead, Minnesota Duluth

After a junior year where Weigel totaled 47 TTck, 5 TFLs, 5 PBUs, and 3 FR, he snagged 2 NSIC offers this offseason. The state qualifier in the 100M and the 4x400M race brings a lot to the table. Weigel is versatile, typically lining up as a corner but he also has reps on his tape as an OLB. His speed is imminently evident in his film, Weigel can be seen flying around and playing with a physicality not typically seen from a corner. When he's dropping back into coverage, Weigel is a playmaker plain and simple. He flashes quick hips and solid hands, and I expect that over his senior year, he blossoms into one of the top DBs in the state.

OL: [player_tooltip player_id='551332' first='Carson' last='Lund'] 6'2" 235 lbs 2025

A thick interior offensive lineman who has made waves on the camp circuit starting in April, Lund's stock has been consistently rising this offseason leading to a ton of anticipation heading towards his senior year. Some of Lund's best work is in the run game. He's explosive off the ball and locks into defender's pads quickly, which often results in a fast pancake. Lund has lead in his hands and has been shown to get to the second level quickly. This agility is also apparent when he's asked to pull. When he does Lund is explosive and lights up defenders on first contact. I hope to see this stock continue to rise through the fall season.

DL: [player_tooltip player_id='641221' first='Sam' last='Hanson'] 6'2" 220 lbs 2025

As a junior Hanson brought in 46 TTck, 7 TFLs, and 1.0 sacks. An impressive stat line that doesn't truly do him justice as a pass rusher. Primarily lining up as a defensive end, Hanson utilizes a quick first step to put his hands on offensive linemen and create space. He tends to create havoc with his bend on the outside and can be seen blowing up a play in the backfield often. Against bigger offensive tackles, Hanson sees a lot of success beating them with his speed, but that shouldn't diminish the fact that he's physically imposing in his own right, and can light up a ball carrier when he gets his hands on them.

DL: [player_tooltip player_id='1060719' first='Ethan' last='Berry'] 6' 215 lbs 2025

Berry totaled 27 TTck, 1 TFL, 1.0 Sacks, 1 FF, and 2 PBUs as a quick and dogged defensive end in 2023. One of his best traits on tape is how he never gives up on a play. Berry can be seen hawking down receivers and runningbacks alike from across the field. Even when being held illegally, Berry is going to fight tooth and nail through the offensive lineman to make a play. He also does a nice job of always putting his hands up when the QB releases the ball, which has also netted him a pair of PBUs.

QB: [player_tooltip player_id='489731' first='Kaden' last='Harney'] 6'3" 185 lbs 2026

Harney is not only one of my favorite QB prospects in his class but in the state as a whole. As a sophomore leading one of the top teams in the state, Harney put up over 1,100 passing yards with 19 TDs on a stunning passer rating of 120. He boasts a silky smooth release and some of the best placement in his class. Harney isn't afraid to stretch the field, but also doesn't take stupid risks or force the ball to his best receiver. He can roll out of the pocket to either side successfully and can deliver dimes off of one foot or on the run. The Harney hype train starts here and it's going to take off next season.

OL: [player_tooltip player_id='1255885' first='Matthew' last='Perusse'] 6'4" 245 lbs 2026

Another beefy Crimson offensive lineman, Perusse is a powerful blindside tackle who needs more collegiate looks entering his junior season. He has a quick first step off of the line of scrimmage, and although he can play high, Perusse can counteract that with his sheer size and strength. Typically bigger and younger offensive tackles struggle to continuously get toward the second level, but Perusse managed to do so quite frequently on tape. He also takes sharp angles towards defenders, teakettling them when they're off balance. I think another year of development on varsity for Perusse will cause his recruiting to skyrocket.

DB: [player_tooltip player_id='592132' first='Brayden' last='Dozier'] 6' 165 lbs 2026

A returning starter who tallied 36 TTck, 7 PBUs, and 1 INT as a sophomore, Dozier had an explosive breakout year that puts him in a primed position for a giant recruiting boost as a junior. Dozier is a slight corner who specializes in erasing your team's best receiver over the top. He breaks quickly from the top of his drop and his hands always seem to manage to either knock the ball away or create a tough contested ball for the receiver. Dozier is a sleeper member of an extremely talented secondary that needs to be paid more attention.

OLB: Beaux Thyen 5'9" 175 lbs 2026

Thyen put up an extremely impressive 62 TTck, 7 TFLs, 1 FR, 2 INTs, and 3 PBUs as a sophomore on varsity. Later that same year, he was part of a 4x100 team that broke a school record. While I couldn't dig up any tape on him, there's a high chance his numbers will again draw attention this fall.
