had a productive offseason going into his senior season and the results speak for themselves in his senior midseason tape. Hromadka has been an asset in the passing game, showing an improved ability to separate at the top of the route, sure hands, and balance through contact. The 6’5er is a big-time target in the redzone and won some catches through contested coverage and is also a powerful blocker and has added strength in the offseason and has sent some defenders hard into the turf so far this season. Hromadka is able to work to the second level and handle defenders at all three levels of a defense, whether they come at him with quickness or power. Versatile tool for one of the best teams in the state. North Dakota got a good one!

Ranked 145th by prephoops.comrnAnother big target with a big catch radius, Hromadka, is all a coach would want in a tight end. Usually lined up in the traditional tight end position, he gets off the line quickly and is especially dangerous in the middle of the field. He does a great job of finding openings between the hash marks, and he is physical enough to take a hit to make a catch. He will deliver a hit, too – he is great at collapsing the perimeter of opposing defenses with his physical blocking. He is powerful enough to drive guys off the line of scrimmage but agile enough to stay with blocks at the second level. The Crimson big man is averaging five points and five rebounds for the 12-7 Crimson basketball team.

Hromadka has a very well-rounded skill set as a tight end. His strong hands, explosiveness out of his stance, and solid speed make him a reliable target in the passing game. He exhibits explosiveness coming out of his stance, allowing him to gain a quick advantage off the line of scrimmage. His burst is key in creating separation as a receiver or getting an edge as a blocker. Hromadka’s prowess as a powerful blocker on the edge, continuous leg drive, and understanding of anchoring and leverage contribute significantly to his effectiveness on the field. He shows an ability to anchor as a blocker, establishing a firm position against defenders. His understanding of leverage allows him to hold his ground effectively and create opportunities for the offense. At the tight end position, Hromadka showcases solid speed, particularly considering his size. This combination makes him a versatile threat in both the passing game and blocking schemes. Watch out for him to take a big step forward and be one of the best receiving targets in the state.

Another winner from the summer camp circuit who impressed during in-person camp settings by high-major evaluators, PRzMN is also hearing good things about Nathan Hromadka from Maple Grove’s fall camp, where the TE is up to a legit 220 and moving like he’s 20-25 pounds lighter. Those factors, not to mention the big role he played in Maple Grove winning the 2022 MN big school state championship, blocking prowess as an underclassman, and ability to impact the passing game, plus he’s 6’5-6’6, helped him jump four spots from #15 to #11 overall in the 2025 class of Minnesota prospects. The Land of 10,000 Lakes produces first-rate tight ends at a high clip, so the future is bright and the ceiling high for Hromadka. Once August 1st rolled around, he heard from Minnesota, NDSU, SDSU, and UNI, and Minnesota seems to be particularly interested in how he continues to develop. So are we, as he’s laid a balanced, functional, and effective foundation of skills from the traditional TE spot on the edge of the LOS that projects very well to the college level. With solid length and a frame looks capable of adding 30-40 more pounds of good weight, Hromadka is a strong and feisty in-line blocker who can handle larger DEs and even DTs 1-on-1 while showing good technique and physicality, as well as the ability to block in space and handle quicker, smaller second and third level defenders. In the passing game, the 6’5-6’6 target is a downfield passing threat that can create separation at the top of the route and finish catches through contact. In this day and age of TEs evolving to basically XL WRs that find themselves flexing out wide as opposed to getting dirty and gritty in the trenches, Hromadka is a breath of fresh air that brings an accelerated blocking expertise and the athleticism to hurt defenses in the passing game to the table. TE1 is a must-know name in the 2025 class of MN prospects.

Of all the stud Maple Grove Crimson sophomores littering the current 2025 rankings I am most excited about TE1 Nathan Hromadka, who I think is a P5 talent at a position the state historically produces well at. Already at an exciting 6’6, 210 lbs., Hromadka was a big-time varsity contributor in 2022 and helped his MG squad win the 2022 MN 6A state championship. He’s already got a balanced and effective skillset for a young buck, with the speed to hurt defenses in the pass game, soft hands and toughness to make catches through contact, and a polished and strong blocking game at the LOS against legit DL competition. Hromadka was quite successful in 1-on-1 down blocks against good-sized DEs and was also comfortable and capable of blocking in space and at the second level of the defense to help open some big holes in the running game for the Crimson. That blocking game really gets me fired up and shows P5 potential, especially at 6’6, 210 pounds and still growing. MG is coming off Gopher TE commit Sam Peters Sam Peters 6'6" | 225 lbs | TE Maple Grove | 2023 State MN in 2023 and may have another Big10 recruit on their hands coming out of that TE room going forward. I can’t wait to see how this plays out the next couple falls and offseasons.
