Slept-On Playmakers Across the State: Hidden Gems to Watch

Although he could project well to the defensive side of the ball, Moody doesn't have as much defensive tape but looks to be a very reliable wide receiver with a ton of skills that could translate to DB. Moody has a great build at 6'2 175, some really good speed and acceleration, and super reliable hands he uses to frequently make some great catches at every level of the field. Last fall, Moody totaled up 11 receptions for 199 yards and a touchdown on the year. As he heads into his junior season, Moody will continue to see the field and develop as a prospect. Miller is explosive wherever he lines up, he has some really impressive speed and acceleration that allow him to get off the line of scrimmage and downfield within seconds. It's really impressive watching Miller at WR- he runs some excellent routes, gains separation constantly, and can outrun entire defenses with his speed. When the ball is in his hands, it's seriously hard to stop him. At FS, Miller has some great play recognition and anticipation that he uses to quickly adjust and fly across the field to make plays. Frequently on tape, Miller finds himself around the ball- consistently breaking up/picking off passes and making tackles. Recently Miller has picked up offers from Boston College, Austin Peay, UT Martin, and more. Wade has a ton of talents as a passer- on tape he's got some terrific arm strength and accuracy that allow him to place the ball anywhere he wants on the field. Wade throws the ball with great velocity and touch- it's super impressive watching him rip the ball over the center of the field through tight windows as well as his ability to lead his receivers downfield. Last fall Wade had himself a super productive sophomore season where he totaled up 158/287 attempts for 2252 yards, 24 touchdowns, and only 6 interceptions on the year. Johnson is talented in both pass protection and run blocking but is an absolutely devastating run blocker. He does a great job using his size, power, and agility to pave the way for the run game. Frequently on tape, you can find Johnson opening up holes at the line of scrimmage, then climbing to the second level to flatten out linebackers and defensive backs. In pass protection, Johnson utilizes some of the same traits and consistently works with the other members of the line to provide a clean pocket and keep defenders away from the quarterback. Johnson is a talented player who plays with a unique blend of aggression and physicality, and teams are starting to notice. He just recently picked up an offer from Tuskegee and will keep adding more to his list as the year continues.
