Next Up 2027 Offensive Prospects: Part 1

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Names to know in the 2027 class over the next several years. </h2>    Baldwin is a dynamic athlete with a complete WR skillset at 6'1” 165 lbs. Checks all of the boxes in terms of vertical speed, lateral quickness, and natural ball skills. He accelerates off the LOS with a hard drive phase closing space on the DB and force them to transition. He's quick to get in and out of his breaks showing a good ability to drop his hip level and create separation at the top of his route. Speed and technical ability make him an advanced route runner at all three depths. Explosive playmaker after the catch that is elusive and can run by tacklers in the open field. Strong and aggressive stalk blocker that can break down and engage a guy in space through the whistle. Holds five P4 offers to date and will be near the top of overall 2027 prospects in the state when all is said and done.   5 Offers: Indiana, Penn State, Pitt, Arizona State, Iowa State     Bartholomew is a physical downhill runner with a well-built compact frame at 5'11” 210 lbs. He's quick to get north/south and press the LOS using his short area burst to attack running lanes, makes one quick lateral cut and gets square. Runs hard and is tough to tackle at both first contact and at the second level given his balance and strength at the POA. Maintains good leg drive, pad level, and forward momentum to break tackles and extend gains. Shows natural ball carrier instincts and vision to find space and use his breakaway speed to finish in the endzone. Picked up two early offers from Colorado State and Arizona State but expect D1 offers to continue to roll in as he is able to showcase his skillset.   2 Offers: Colorado State, Arizona State     As a freshman, Lowther already possesses ideal measurements for the major D1 level at 6'7” 295 lbs. He's got a well-balanced frame with good weight distribution between his upper and lower halves. Shows functional mobility and movement skills, can move his feet to stay in front and seal off a defender. He's got good natural strength that can move defenders off the ball but tends to get too high at times and lose his pad level sacrificing some of that strength at the POA. Like his ability to latch on and sustain his block throughout the play. Picked up his initial offer from Arizona State last month and is a high ceiling prospect that will get more recruiting attention as he develops and progresses.   1 Offer: Arizona State     Impressive athlete with length and a wide skillset that could translate well to multiple positions as he develops. At 6'3” 180 lbs. he shows he can run and attack the field vertically as a split end. Does a good job feeling the soft spot in coverage to establish himself as a target. Goes at the ball with his hands and extends out to have a catch radius that goes beyond his framework. Like his ability to use his length and create positional leverage by boxing out defenders at the catch point. At LB, he's tough and physical at the POA. He flashes good range to play sideline to sideline while making quick decisive reads to put himself in good position. Strong tackler that accelerates his feet on contact and takes good angles of pursuit to the ball. One to watch as gains more experience.     Wilson flashes as an explosive all-purpose back with a versatile skillset that can impact the game as both a ball carrier and receiver. Currently 5'8” 160 lbs. he's got plus field vision and spatial awareness of angles and where defenders are on the field. Like his lateral quickness and his acceleration out of his cuts. Does a good job setting up tacklers and using their leverage against them to cut around, avoid contact, and then get to the open field. Looks good catching the ball out of the backfield or lined up in the slot. He's a mismatch for LB's using his speed and quickness to create separation as a receiver. He's an intriguing prospect that looked great at the Saguaro Spring Showcase and shows good upside/potential.
