Continue ReadingMINOT, ND– It had been two summers since my last scouting trip to Minot State and I knew it was time to pull out what Michael Jordan said once “I’m Back” as I made the 7 hour drive from Minnesota. The new energy in Beavers Country is alive and well, and that was the case too at their Big Man OL/DL Camp I attended. Three states and two countries were represented in Minot, as what these young men got is what I love most about camp season, reps, reps, and of course, more reps. Some took a 12-hour drive back home and got offers, and I am sure more prospects were added to the Beavers big board as they stamp their ground harder than before especially in the Midwest and the Mountains states. We start out with Part I of our list of standouts from the Big Man Camp.
North Dakota’s #1 overall prospect in 2026, surely looked like we made a great choice a couple months back. The overall measurables lived up to their potential, and Hunter was by far a top-tier offensive tackle with our live evaluations. He showed off an excellent bend with his frame, and I was hopeful I would fall for the pad-level I saw on tape, in which it was spot-on and consistent. Hunter graded best in pass-protection from my eyes as his leverage was sound and I still believe there is strength to grow upcoming for Hunter. I would expect Hunter to start his blow up at camps this summer for sure. Twitter
Holy smokes is

a Canadian defensive line prospect with upside thru the roof that I got a live look at in Minot. The length of his strides and wingspan are enormous and even in the short-stint I watched him in Minot you could tell he was getting more technicially sound with his hands which shows one of his biggest upsides as far as his skillsets along with growing strength at the point of attack which with his frame you got plenty of room to add. Bol also showed off some great fluidity for that size as one of a couple Canadian defensive linemen that walked out with an offer from the Beavers on Saturday. Twitter
Man, did I enjoy watching the Giggee twins get after eacother in 1v1 reps, as Layton is one of two of them that plays with a heck of a competive edge that was shown all day in Minot. From a testing perspective, Layton tested amongst the best within the defensive tackle group. Not to mention I feel like his motor and hand strength has certainly gotten more depth since our last winter Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine in Jamestown. Layton certainly passed the eye-test for growth in Minot as DL2 in North Dakotas’s 2026 class. Twitter

One of the biggest stockrisers in my eyes from our combine in Jamestown to the Minot State Big Man Camp was Flasher’s

. The growth this kid has made has skyrocketed especially with his reps that were close to 100% in 1v1s in Minot. Those reps showed off plenty of explosion and much improved hand technique. Not to mention CL also was solid with his position angles. Love this kid’s character too as one on the rise in North Dakota 2025s. Twitter

The DL SEST MVP (top tester) was another Canadian that made a 12-hour drive worth while, which was George McDougall 2025

.Jakob’s athleticism showed off the total package from an excellent burst, change of direction, and displayed much more upper body strength despite being one of the slimmest DL prospects in Minot. He also showed to be light on his feet and showed off eluisveness in his steps to the ball. Jakob also showed off a sound work ethic and every rep I witnessed out of this young man, I always saw him finish. What’s even better? Jakob also demonstrated to me position flexibility which every college coach in America wants to see at camp. Twitter
Another Canadian prospect I have scouted in the past that impressed in the live evaluation in Minot was Bishop Mahoney (SK) 2025
Nicholas Cook

. Nicholas showed off smoother footwork in 1v1s than I caught on tape which was great to see live. He showed off great stamina in every rep I got to watch, and I thought was one OL prospect that showed off quick turns of development from coaching from the Minot State staff which I always love seeing in a camp-setting. Nicholas also did well with getting leverage at the point of attack and I have seen on tape, this kid knows how to finish. At 6’0 300 pounds, Nick is another Canadian on the rise this Spring. Twitter
