.Jakob’s athleticism showed off the total package from an excellent burst, change of direction, and displayed much more upper body strength despite being one of the slimmest DL prospects in Minot. He also showed to be light on his feet and showed off eluisveness in his steps to the ball. Jakob also showed off a sound work ethic and every rep I witnessed out of this young man, I always saw him finish. What’s even better? Hertz does not have a full posted set of highlights from 2023 like some of the other prospects on the list but there is enough tape by individual clips and game to start an evaluation. Hertz, a 6’3 205lb linebacker from Alberta. Hertz shows solid change of direction in space and throughout multiple clips showed some positional versatility playing in a more traditional off-ball linebacker role and being asked to come off the edge to rush the passer. Hertz shows that he can tackle in space and has solid bend and flexibility off the edge. Watching all of Hertz’s film from 2023 and 2022 is like piecing a puzzle together with all the different clips and games but there are some flashes of a talented OLB from George McDougall.
