Here's a closer look at seven of them:

[player_tooltip player_id='1279984' first='Nova' last='Lane'], 6-4, 220, Mount Vernon

Junior Highlights

Lane lines up off the edge in a 3-4ish kind of look when watching his junior film. It certainly could make him a fit with his hand in the dirt as an end in a four-man front. His versatility and athleticism open the door for him to operate in multiple schemes on the next level. Lane competes well rushing from the outside. He holds the edge when needed and crashes down to make tackles on plays run inside. Lane plays fast and explodes to the ball in space. He produced 10.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks in in '23.

[player_tooltip player_id='1279727' first='Reed' last='Anderson'], 6-2, 190, Ankeny Centennial

Junior Highlights

Production was not a problem for Anderson last season, when he piled up 72.0 tackles (48 solo, 6.5 for loss). He's light for a linebacker but does not lack the physicality needed at the spot. His frame looks like it can comfortable add weight and strength without losing the athleticism he leans on. He ran his school's second fastest 400 meter time in track this spring. Facing some of the state's top football competition throughout the season, Anderson shines running sideline to sideline and in the box. He could fit at safety in some schemes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1286448' first='Michael' last='Bormann'], 6-1, 225, Dubuque Wahlert

Junior Highlights

Bormann is a two-way standout for the Golden Eagles. After he rushed for 1,007 yards (8.7 YPC) and nine touchdowns in '23, some college staffs might like him toting the rock. Others definitely could be drawn to him roaming the second level of the defense after he piled up 45.5 tackles (34 solo, 10.0 TFL), 3.0 sacks and two fumbles recoveries. His versatility and contributions remind me of former West Branch star Andy Henson. Bormann's game his headlined by physicality while running and tackling. He's also athletic as evidenced by his posting Wahlert's best mark in the shot put and running sprints in track this spring.

[player_tooltip player_id='1080239' first='Jarrett' last='Kies'], 6-2, 210, Cedar Falls

Junior Highlights

I've written about Kies multiple times before and enjoy returning to watch his junior film. Then I'm surprised by the lack of attention he's receiving in recruiting. He reports scholarship offers from Northern Iowa, North Dakota and Sioux Falls, and those are sound programs, but FBS schools are missing the boat here. Kies brings a motor he revs up throughout the action. He stacks up well against the run, moving sharply straight ahead and laterally. He can keep up with tight ends in coverage and also help on special teams.

[player_tooltip player_id='245555' first='Harrison' last='Tripp'], 6-2, 225, Norwalk

Junior Highlights

On a team surrounded by plenty of next-level talent, Tripp stood out on the Warriors' defense in '23. Of his 60.5 total tackles, an amazing 53 were of the solo variety. Tripp added 12.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and an interception. He led Norwalk throws in track during the spring and reached the district semifinals in wrestling this last winter. On the gridiron, Tripp is relentless. His aggressiveness is controlled as he plays within the scheme, reading and reacting accurately play in and play out.

[player_tooltip player_id='1279723' first='Nathan' last='Deimerly'], 5-11, 215, Waukee

Junior Highlights

Deimerly stands up off the edge quite a bit for the Warriors, showing a high aptitude for what needs to be done with a disciplined approach. He sets the edge well, which often leads the tackles for others. He did produce 17 solo stops and 3.0 for loss last fall and should receive even more reps as a senior. His skill set would work with him playing end in college. Deimerly also might fit as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 alignment. He appears to have the speed and quickness for flexibility on the next level while bringing special teams' juice as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1105275' first='Gabriel' last='Anderson'], 6-3, 195, Hinton

Junior Highlights

Prep Redzone ranks Anderson as the No. 17 quarterback in the Iowa '25 Class, and some college coaches certainly could prefer him there, where he accounted for 16 touchdowns in '23. However, Anderson has been working out as a linebacker during summer camps, including a strong performance at Iowa State earlier this month. He played LB/S for the Blackhawks last season, contributing 35 solo tackles. He also averaged 23.0 yards on nine kick returns. Picturing him helping a college program out in multiple areas doesn't take a lot of imagination with Anderson's talent and desire.
