Nova Lane Nova Lane 6'4" | 220 lbs | LB Mount Vernon | 2025 State IA has been having a spectacular senior season, and he finished with another strong performance against Keokuk as Mount Vernon finishes #7 in the Class 3A rankings. Lane recorded 2.5 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, and 2.5 sacks in the win. Lane did a great job navigating into the backfield, attacking the right angles against the run, and shows good hand placement to jab his blockers. Lane ranks 2nd on the team in sacks (7.5) for the season as he’s been an impressive standout for a dominant defense this year.

Lane projects more on defense at the next level. He shows some chops at offensive tackle, however. Lane is light on his feet while still maintaining a strong base. He is technically solid with his hand placement with good bend. It’s intriguing. Defense is where Lane makes his money, though. He’s disruptive and physical. Opponents find him hard to square up and block, and he’s consistently good at disengaging them when he gets locked up.
