The PRZ Next Up Showcase travels around the country spotlighting athletes who are the verge of making names for themselves on Friday nights. This collection MVPs from the DFW area, had phenomenal days, showing that they have next level talent. Here are the MVPs from the most recent Texas Next Up Combine.
Knapp has a lean, athletic build, he has the arm talent to make every throw on the route tree and his ability to be accurate are traits that stuck out in his game at the showcase. Jaxon ran well, posting excellent numbers in the combine testing, showing good speed and the ability to change directions quickly. Knapp throws well on the run, he has a quick release with the arm strength to push the ball outside the numbers on a rope, his footwork is clean and he was on the money on his throws throughout the day. During the 1v1s against the defense, Knapp worked the short to intermediate zones well, hitting his targets in stride and he had great touch on his deep ball. After watching his tape from the fall, Knapp not only can make big throws but he has the athleticism to be a threat in the run game, with the speed to make a house call for six. Keep an eye Knapp, who has the chance to see some playing time under center at All Saints in 2024.
Highlights
Peter is strong at the point of attack, he has a stiff, powerful punch at engagement and he won multiple reps, using his physical play to dominate in the trenches. He has an extended reach, with broad shoulders and when he locks on a defender he gets control early. MacDonald V has good short area quickness with clean footwork, he moves well in space and he controls his weight well in close quarters. Peter is versatile, he has the skill set to play all five offensive line positions but he may ultimately settle in at guard or center. At 6’3 260 pounds, he has the frame tailor made for the trenches and as he continues to mature his game will flourish. He heads to Lewisville in 2024 and he will be a name to know in the next couple years in the trenches for the Farmers.
Highlights
Green is a silky smooth route runner, he has an explosive first step, he has excellent body control that he uses well to create separation off the ball and he was able to get open often during the showcase. He runs well and put up a great 40 time, he moves well in space, showing the ability to change directions quickly and he has good hip bend. Hayden has a large catch radius, with large mitts that attack the football in flight, he has superb ball skills and he is a natural catcher of the football, making it look routine when he grabs the ball out of the air. Hayden has been on tear this spring on the 7v7 circuits, he is a matchup problem who has the speed to stretch the field and he plays of the above the rim, with the elite body control to elevate and win on the 50/50 balls consistently. He won reps consistently, making an array of big grabs while running every route with precision. Green is one of the most talented athletes in the 2028 class and he has the chance to get on the field early at North Crowley in 2024.
Mosely has an explosive first step, he has violent hands with a stiff punch and he has the speed that makes him a handful in the trenches for opposing offenses. He is quick in space, he has the ability to shift his weight quickly and Mosely attacks with brute strength but under control. Bryston was impressive during the testing portion, running well showing good speed and his footwork was superb in the cone drills. Where Mosely excelled was in the 1v1s versus the offensive linemen, beating his opponents at the snap with his explosive burst and he displayed a handful of moves with violent hands. He has the skill set to rush off the edge or stand up and play linebacker. Mosely has the chance to get on the field early at Jefferson.
Rhyder moves well in space, he has good short area quickness and he has active feet that enable him to make plays in space. He tested well during the drill portion of the camp, showing the ability to shift his weight quickly during the cone drills and he has good hip flexibility. Allison-Butler excelled in the 1v1s versus the running backs, he took proper angles to the ball carrier, closing down the distance between them quickly, keeping his feet hot, not getting stuck in the mud and he played the pass well, using his length to get hands on several pass deflections. At 5’10 185 pounds, he has a well put together frame that will allow him to add healthy bulk as he continues to mature. As heads into Smithson Valley, he has the potential to be a disruptive force on Friday nights in the next couple of years.
Highlights
Stinson is an elite cover corner, he has a lean, athletic frame with an extended reach that enables him to get hands on receivers at engagement to get them off their axis early in their routes. Terrell had an impressive 40 time, showing excellent speed and burst and he moved well in the cone drills, showing superb change of direction. He transitions into his back pedal smoothly, he has oily hips and his ability to plant, cut, turn and mirror receivers in coverage allowed him to make plays on the football shutting down passing lanes. Stinson is a sticky defender who plays with a ball hawk mentality, he has great patience and plays with a calm demeanor, not falling for the array of moves that wideouts come off the line with trying to get him to bite early. Stinson has elite ball skills and checks off all the boxes for an elite pass defender. Stinson is one the top athletes in the 2028 class and he has the skill set that college programs covet at the cornerback position.

Strange has a stout frame, with broad shoulders and a powerful lower half. He had one of the top 40 times during the combine testing, showing great speed and burst and he showed the ability to cut and change directions quickly in space, moving through the cone drills quickly. Strange is phonebooth quick, he can cut on a dime and in the 1v1s versus the linebackers, he rarely got touched, breaking a few ankles in space. Strange is powerful runner, who breaks arm tackles easily and he has the burst to make a house call for six from any down or distance. He catches the ball well, he runs crisp routes and Strange won reps in the passing 1v1s, showing the ability to get open and he displayed sure, reliable hands. Taylen is the total package of speed, power and elusiveness. Look for Strange to make some headlines on Friday nights in Forney in the future.
