Let’s jump into our notes from the final session of the day:
Lejeune WR Andrew Finnerty Andrew Finnerty 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR Lejeune | 2025 NC ran his routes at full speed – that was no more evident on a vertical route where he outran the defender.
Wilson QB Carson Jones Carson Jones 6'0" | 200 lbs | QB Wilson Hunt | 2026 NC has an impressive arm and can put the ball on the money. The same can be said of Hank Nunnery of Orange.
Hampton’s Justin Batiste made a nice catch on the rail route to run past the defender for the touchdown.
Davie County WR Ethan Driver Ethan Driver 6'2" | 170 lbs | WR DAVIE County | 2026 NC (pictured above) was a guy who caught our eye throughout the afternoon. He made an impressive catch near the sideline. He is able to snatch the ball out of the air to where only he can get it. One comment from a coach: “This kid can run.” That was evident on a touchdown catch where he ran right underneath it and caught it in stride.
Gabe Shirley from North Raleigh Christian Academy had a nice pass breakup on another rail route from the back where it looked like the back had a chance to make the catch.
One of the MVPs from Saturday’s combine was Shon Pone Jr Shon Pone Jr 6'1" | 180 lbs | RB Seventy First Highschool | 2027 NC of Seventy First. He made a nice acrobatic catch, putting two hands on it so there was no chance for the defender to come in and jar the ball loose.
Terris Hobbs Terris Hobbs 6'0" | 170 lbs | RB Clayton | 2027 NC of Clayton made an excellent adjustment to a ball that was thrown to make the catch.
