We start it up with the top gunslingers from Saturday in which we saw nearly 10 quarterbacks in attendance showing off what they got. These below were our evals of the top gunslingers we had in attendance.
One off the first quarterbacks that I got my eyes on at the Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine was Wishek (ND) Berkley Frantz Berkley Frantz 6’1″ | 180 lbs | QB South Border | 2026 State ND . I thought he was one of the most poised quarterbacks within the group inside the pocket as he seemed to be quite efficient on every-level of the field. He also showed off solid mechanics as the timing of Berkley’s throws were from the reps I encountered were precise and seemed balance as far as his touch he gave on each throw I watched. I would also give Berkley our QB MVP in the testing category as I thought he was the most consistent QB from testing across the board.

Myself and our silent evaluator that was in attendance, were both fully on board with what Landon showed off early as a 2026 quarterback that is a recent new addition to our rankings as a top 20 overall prospect. He showed off a mechnicially sound throwing motion along that finished constantly with a quick release. Landon showed off high effiency across the bulk of the drills and routes on air we watched. Landon also showed off fluidity with his quick reads as a 2026 QB that is on the rise.

Another recent new addition to our 2026 rankings that showed off the upside we wanted to see was Jones Huntimer Jones Huntimer 6’2″ | 170 lbs | QB Brookings | 2026 State SD of Brookings. Jones showed off good touch on the reps I caught out of him on Saturday and is a quarterback prospect that has two more years of upside to grow further. Although, I did see growth from Jones from the start of Indy drills thru the end of 1v1s that did show off quick upside growth that the common man might not see. He can develop on his precision and I would love to see him work on his upper body in the weight room to improve his arm strength as a 6’2 160 pound quarterback with solid upside still brewing. No Twitter yet.

Chayce Hartman
Chayce Hartman
Chayce might have been one of the smallest quarterbacks in the group, but regardless this young man looked like he belonged. You can tell that this young man relished with attention to detail, as Chayce certainly impressed me with his mechanics for his age and he has a high upside curve coming with plenty of years to go. He also showed off great ball placement and was quite precise on a few reps I got to watch from Chayce. Bright future for this young man and playing at a program that has consistently had Division I and II talent the last several years should advance Chayce’s development. Chayce also posted an impressive short shuttle at 4.43.
Kaleb Lounsbury
Kaleb Lounsbury
We may have cracked the code of who might be QB1 for the Pierre T.F. Riggs Governors, who have now won 11AA seven times in a row, and go for eight in 2024 with a high probability of Kaleb Lounsbury leading their offense. What did we learn about Kaleb in Sioux Falls? He will bring another athlete-type quarterback similar to what they had in 2023 in Northern State commit Cade Kaiser Cade Kaiser 6’2″ | 185 lbs | WR Pierre T.F. Riggs | 2024 State SD , as Kaleb was from what I gauged oned of our top testers amongst the quarterback position. I was quite intrgued watching the speed of Kaleb’s quick release as I thought it was one of the faster releases I saw out of the quarterback group on the day. Kaleb was one that I thought took full advange of the reps he was given on Saturday at Augustana as this 2026 QB prospect will certainly be an add to our rankings here soon.

Javi Vazquez
Javi Vazquez
I called it out and stand on it, that Javi is one of my favorite 8th grade quarterbacks so far in the Dakotas, and watching him go up against older competition I feel certainly benefited him on Saturday. His development I felt rose his stock futher on Saturday, as I thought Javi was fully challenged, yet was up for all of it at our combine and did not back down. He showed off that continued poise that I have seen over the last few weeks grow and development as an 8th grader at a high school combine showing off plenty of upside to come in over the next several years.
There was a lot of solid quarterback play at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine as I thought the state of North Dakota came out to play and saw plenty of growth from start to end amongst quarterbacks including Michael Hoistad Michael Hoistad 6’2″ | 200 lbs | QB Sargent County | 2025 State ND of Sargent County. The 2025 quarterback, showed off patience with his arm strength as Michael did a good job of buying time and perfecting the read he was looking for at our combine on Saturday. I love when what I see shows consistency on tape, which is the case with Michael. He is a 6’0 200+ pound quarterback I could see getting some calls this summer as a good small school football target.

Talk about a quarterback that quickly becoming the total package in our 2026 class which describes Centerville 2026 quarterback Alec Austin to the T. Even before our Dakotas Combine, Alec was one of my pre-combine favorites for QB MVP, and he easiy lived up to the hype on Saturday at Augustana. I flipped back in my memory and recall watching Alec on the same field sI got his “first look” of a live evaluation and came away very impressed with the athleticism he had to grow as just a freshmen. That growing athleticism showed further when I watched him at testing, where the 6’2+ 212 pound tested great for his athletic frame with a 4.51 short shuttle, 9’0 broad jump, and stretched out to just over 78 (6’6) inches with his wingspan which showed the athletic length this young man has put together. His has grown significantly from an athlete to a quarterback in our 2026 rankings, and showed a rapid fire release on short and intermediate routes I witnessed. The best rep from Alec (see below) came in 1v1s when he showed off how much arm strength and precision he has with his body and threw an sure-fire dart 45+ yards that had plenty of meat on the ball to go even deeper. I would offer Alec sooner rather than later.
