Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine: Top Gunslingers

We start it up with the top gunslingers from Saturday in which we saw nearly 10 quarterbacks in attendance showing off what they got. I thought he was one of the most poised quarterbacks within the group inside the pocket as he seemed to be quite efficient on every-level of the field. He also showed off solid mechanics as the timing of Berkley's throws were from the reps I encountered were precise and seemed balance as far as his touch he gave on each throw I watched. He showed off a mechnicially sound throwing motion along that finished constantly with a quick release. Landon showed off high effiency across the bulk of the drills and routes on air we watched. Jones showed off good touch on the reps I caught out of him on Saturday and is a quarterback prospect that has two more years of upside to grow further. Although, I did see growth from Jones from the start of Indy drills thru the end of 1v1s that did show off quick upside growth that the common man might not see. He can develop on his precision and I would love to see him work on his upper body in the weight room to improve his arm strength as a 6'2 160 pound quarterback with solid upside still brewing. You can tell that this young man relished with attention to detail, as Chayce certainly impressed me with his mechanics for his age and he has a high upside curve coming with plenty of years to go. He also showed off great ball placement and was quite precise on a few reps I got to watch from Chayce. Bright future for this young man and playing at a program that has consistently had Division I and II talent the last several years should advance Chayce's development. I was quite intrgued watching the speed of Kaleb's quick release as I thought it was one of the faster releases I saw out of the quarterback group on the day. His development I felt rose his stock futher on Saturday, as I thought Javi was fully challenged, yet was up for all of it at our combine and did not back down. The 2025 quarterback, showed off patience with his arm strength as Michael did a good job of buying time and perfecting the read he was looking for at our combine on Saturday. I love when what I see shows consistency on tape, which is the case with Michael. Even before our Dakotas Combine, Alec was one of my pre-combine favorites for QB MVP, and he easiy lived up to the hype on Saturday at Augustana. I flipped back in my memory and recall watching Alec on the same field sI got his “first look” of a live evaluation and came away very impressed with the athleticism he had to grow as just a freshmen. That growing athleticism showed further when I watched him at testing, where the 6'2+ 212 pound tested great for his athletic frame with a 4.51 short shuttle, 9'0 broad jump, and stretched out to just over 78 (6'6) inches with his wingspan which showed the athletic length this young man has put together. His has grown significantly from an athlete to a quarterback in our 2026 rankings, and showed a rapid fire release on short and intermediate routes I witnessed. The best rep from Alec (see below) came in 1v1s when he showed off how much arm strength and precision he has with his body and threw an sure-fire dart 45+ yards that had plenty of meat on the ball to go even deeper.
