Marquan's tape shows some promise, and he has a good foundation to build off of for next season. Most of his highlights come via the same outside power run. There, Marquan does a good job of following his blocks and running north-south. There are a few plays where he gains a few extra yards with decent vision, but he mostly follows the anatomy of the play without much improvisation at the second level. He also spent time on the kickoff team and receiver. As a receiver, he's a willing blocker. Moving forward, Marquan needs to work on his explosiveness, contact balance, and vision.

It's not often that you see a sophomore named varsity captain, but that's exactly the case for Eli. I am very impressed with his play speed and instincts. Although Eli's primary position is safety, he sometimes plays more of a linebacker or nickel corner. No matter the position he plays, Eli plays fast and aggressive. He made a few great run-stopping plays from his safety position. Eli's second and third highlights show good downhill running and tackling. There are even a few highlights where he lines up on-ball. I like the versatility and ceiling. If Eli shows a lot of improvement this fall, he could 100% be a college prospect next spring.

Fa'Marzay made some plays on a Pontiac team that took a big step forward last season. As a safety, he does his job and he does it well. He had a few interceptions during the season, with most of them being made via awful throws by the quarterback. However, the highlight at 0:40 shows a phenomenal interception off a tipped pass. He's also a willing run defender who hits relatively hard. Sometimes, he allows the ball carrier to come to him, but more often than not, Fa'Marzay meets the ball carrier with a head of steam. I'm hoping for a breakout 2024 season!

I rarely cover freshman players in this series, but Gage showed some good stuff in his first high school season. Gage is a hard runner who is unafraid of contact. While working up field, Gage oftentimes lowers his shoulder to gain a few extra yards. On top of that, his open-field vision and speed are quite good for a freshman running back. Keep working, bulk up a bit, and hit that weight room! If Gage is able to develop a consistent work ethic, he could. easily be one of, if not the best, in the OAA Gold very soon.

Blaze is a solid speed-in-space player who also made a few good plays on defense. Offensively, he received the ball via sweeps and deep routes. On those sweeps, he did his best to follow his blocks and find daylight. Blaze would oftentimes get to the second level, but he struggled to create extra yardage. His receiving tells a similar story. He was able to get open downfield a few times but didn't have the acceleration needed to hit top speed and score a touchdown. His defensive highlights show good effort, reaction time, and tackling. For someone as light as Blaze is, he showed a lot of grit on the defensive side of the ball. I'm looking forward to seeing if Blaze can build off his 2023 campaign.
