Hudl Discoveries returns for the fifth day in a row, analyzing the immense talent of the OK-Red. Today, I'll be evaluating six more brand-new prospects from East Kentwood, Grand Haven, Grandville, West Ottawa, Hudsonville, and Rockford.

Gabe had his moments at Varsity last fall, and he'll look to build off his current tape. His current film shows decent run-stopping ability and solid ball skills when he's on top of the receiver. Gabe can work to improve his run-stopping by making a point to practice fast while not worrying about making the wrong read or making a mistake. Coverage-wise, there isn't enough tape for me to judge his abilities yet. He did play quite a bit of 7on7 this winter, so I'm excited to see how that + summer development impacts his skillset.

With a bit of work, Sam could develop into a dominant linebacker. As an off-ball inside linebacker, Sam does a solid job of working his way to the ballcarrier. There are moments when he effectively works through blocks and makes a tackle. However, his reaction time and aggression can be vastly improved. It's mostly an IQ and mental thing. With much more film study and working on playing fast during practice, Sam and the entire Grand Haven defense could improve significantly.

Braylen's tape is fun to watch, and better yet, he's only a sophomore. Last season, he was utilized in several different ways offensively and defensively. On offense, he was utilized as a running back and lead blocker. He sports decent speed, vision, and was an effective blocker. Defensively, he was primarily utilized as an outside linebacker, lining up both on and off-ball. Braylen blitzed quite a bit and showed good explosiveness and tenacity. He would sometimes overrun his target, but I'd rather a sophomore linebacker make fast mistakes than play timidly. He also showed good reaction to the run while playing off-ball.

Brandon is a solid possession receiver who will take off next season if he works on his YAC ability. The highlight at 0:50 hurts to watch. Although Brandon comes down with the catch on the chunk play, he fails to keep his balance. If he was able to stay on his feet, he could have brought it to the house. There are multiple other plays where he successfully comes down with a catch but isn't able to do much else after the catch. A bit of practice will 100% help with YAC. One other aspect of his game that was showcased a lot is his blocking abilities. It's nice to see a receiver who's such a willing blocker, and that's one category he's well above-average in.

Braylon served as a great JV slot receiver last season, and he has the potential to be an equally good varsity receiver. He made his money on out-routes last season, as him and his QB had a great connection. Braylon did a great job catching the ball out of his break and then doing his best to turn upfield. On varsity, he'll likely be tasked with running more of the route tree while making tougher catches against better competition. He'll need to work hard to improve his skillset, but I think it's definitely possible that he's a great Varsity player next season.

Sam is a Rockford linebacker if I've ever seen one. This is someone who plays with great IQ, decisiveness, and play speed. I watch so many linebackers who consistently hesitate and struggle reading the play. Sam is a perfect example of someone who's not afraid to make a mistake at full speed. I'd much rather someone make a mistake going full speed than someone standing there not making an attempt to make a play. Against outside runs and QB scrambles, Sam shows good pursuit angles with hard, relentless running. Against inside runs, Sam shoots the gap and works hard to stop a play before it has much of a chance to start. His tape is a bit short, so I wonder if he was the full-season Varsity starter or not. Regardless, Sam should have an amazing Junior season.
