This marks the second year in a row that I covered the event. Pennisi has grown his significantly from last year. With over 400 prospects registered for the event, I had my work cut out for me to identify and scout some of the event’s standouts. As I feverishly wrote notes, here are my scouting notes from the position group disclosed in this article’s title.
PSR BIG Camp Series Event Coverage
Scout’s Notebook: Wide Receivers
First up today was a Parsippany Hills product, Andrew Herre Andrew Herre 6'2" | 190 lbs | WR Parsippany Hills | 2025 NJ . Herre, who looks to fill a big share of targets and yardage vacated by former teammate and graduating senior Joseph Ciccotelli Joseph Ciccotelli 5'11" | 155 lbs | WR Parsippany Hills | 2024 NJ , is putting in the work this camp season to ensure that he can. At 6’2″ Herre already has great size and a tremendous catch radius as a target, but what stood out to me was his vertical ability to go up, high point, and get the ball. This said, something tells me that he will lead his team in touchdowns and be their primary red zone target….. Traveling about 25 minutes across the county was Metuchen’s Justus Leitner Justus Leitner 5'10" | 155 lbs | WR Metuchen | 2026 NJ . I would venture to say that Leitner is likely the kid brother of head coach Jordan, the younger Leitner figures to be a key target split out for the Bulldogs. What I noticed Leitner do exceptionally well is use his hands to exclusively catch the ball. Moreover, he was often included to extend his arms to snatch passes that led him well out of the air.
From Newark Central Dishon Jerman Dishon Jerman 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Newark Central | 2027 State NJ looks to be the main man for years to come split out wide. Jerman does a good job sinking his hips and getting low when he breaks off of his routes. This ability enables him to hide his hips and be more deceptive to a defender as he prepares to enter the latter phases of his route. Jerman also mostly uses his hands to catch. Like Jerman, Reggie Holley Reggie Holley 5'9" | 167 lbs | WR Millville | 2027 NJ from Millville is another 2027 prospect who looks to have great upside. Although I did not get many looks at Holley, I did manage to catch one spectacular play he made. When running a deep route, Holley did a great job willing the tip drill. At first he was unable to secure the ball; however, he continued running and tipped the ball twice more before securing the grab while on the move….. Bergen Catholic’s Michael Campanile Michael Campanile 5'10" | 160 lbs | WR Bergen Catholic | 2025 NJ is a prospect that I was somewhat surprised by. Another relative of a head coach – a few head coaches to be honest – Campanile carried the family name with pride as he put forth an admirable performance. Campanile was relatively quick for the position, but masterfully changed speeds throughout the exhibition.
Coming out from way out there in North Hunterdon was Daniel Figurski Daniel Figurski 6'1" | 189 lbs | WR North Hunterdon | 2026 NJ . With as many prospects as there were in attendance I admit that I was unable to get a detailed look at Figurski, but the one instance I did catch him I walked impressed with him. Figurski was running a deep flag route and recongized that the ball was totally uncatchable and over his head. Realizing this, Figurski immediately went to playing defense. He looked to deflect the ball the best he could. Although the defender ultimately came up with the pick, Figurski fought through his hands to try to break up the pass or force a a fumble….. Chris Horn Jr. Chris Horn Jr. 5'6" | 130 lbs | ATH St. Peter's Prep | 2027 State NJ of St. Peter’s Prep proved to be one of the most agile players in attendance. A very quick and shifty runner, Horn lost absolutely no speed coming in-and-out of his breaks. As he ages and grows he will certainly add more top-end speed to take the top off of a defense; however, in the interim I can foresee Horn being a dynamic threat in the return game and out of the slot in the intermediate game for St. Peters.
