Continue ReadingEntering the field on Saturday will be middle school athletes from across the region. These will be some of the names that you may not be familiar with quite yet, but with time they have the potential to be some of the most talented prospects in the state. For all of these players, I recommend checking out their social media to get a true sense of what they are capable of and how much work they are putting in during the offseason.
Gavin Gilardi Gavin Gilardi 6'2" | 150 lbs | QB Delbarton | 2028 NJ : 2028 QB, Delbarton
Gavin is an absolute gunslinger. I highly recommend checking out what he’s be doing this offseason. Delbarton is getting themselves one of the top tier talents in the 2028 NJ class. I am thoroughly impressed with his ability to look defenders off, get his shoulders around and throw a tight spiral away from coverage. Gavin may gain the most looks after this upcoming weekend.
Nicholas Christino: 2028 ATH, Malvern Academy
Nicholas is a future WR1. Not even very far into the future either, this is a receiver that I anticipate getting reps in early in his high school career. With elite body control and the ability to catch it far away from his body, Nicholas will be tough to stop as he develops into a dangerous weapon.
Aiden Myers Aiden Myers 5'11" | 145 lbs | WR DePaul Catholic | 2028 NJ : 2028 ATH, DePaul
A lengthy receiver that can cut in and out quickly, Aiden is going to be a force for DePaul. In line to be one of the next great receivers to come out of the school, Aiden has been perfecting his craft and is prepared to show off his skills on Saturday. This is a player that will quickly gain recognition and be on collegiate radars in no time.
Dai’Ryus Cancel Dai’Ryus Cancel 5'11" | 260 lbs | LB Moore Catholic | 2028 NJ : 2028 ATH, Moore Catholic
An athlete in the truest sense, Dai’Ryus may be viewed purely as a linebacker, but he can really do it all for his team. Whether it’s running, catching, or making tackles on defense, Dai’Ryus played a significant role in his teams success in 2023 and is looking to do the same when he steps on the field in the fall. He outsizes most players in his class, making him nearly impossible to stop when he’s carrying the rock. He’s also a punishing hitter when he comes in for the tackle. This is a prospect everyone needs to become more familiar with.
Amari Jones Amari Jones 5'10" | 150 lbs | WR Seton Hall Prep | 2028 NJ : 2028 ATH, Seton Hall
Lightning quick footwork and the ability to outcompete the defender for the ball, Amari is another WR that has the chance to immediately change a game through his playmaking abilities. Opponents need to be worried about facing off against Amari. He can use his vertical hops to high point the ball, never giving the defender a chance to bat it down. Amari is prepared to light it up on Saturday.
