Yesterday's PrepRedzoneMN Combine Series brought over 150 Minnesotans and a couple Wisconsinites together for some good ol' fashioned competition. Throughout the three hours of testing, position-specific drills led by college coaches from around MN, and 1-on-1s, the class of 2027, 2026, and 2025 prospects, who hailed from Chisholm, Mountain Iron, Hill City, and Grand Rapids down to Mankato and everywhere in between, put on a show for our scouts and the college coaches in attendance that once again put Minnesota on the map in our nationwide showcase circuit and in the recruiting world. Of the over 150 participants, only a select few could be named to the First Team All-Camp squad, and there are more than a few heavy hitters who made the list, including a couple future P5 talents. Make sure you stay tuned for the upcoming Second Team awards and keep refreshing the PRzMN site for an exciting week of content + rankings updates! No better stop for MN high school football than right here! Congrats to the First Teamers.

--

Quarterbacks

Bib #54: [player_tooltip player_id='1246747' first='Chase' last='Young'] (St. Thomas Academy) 2025. 6'2, 210 lbs.

One of the more physically impressive QBs in attendance on Saturday, STA Cadet Young tested well and was slinging the ball all around the field during competition. Balanced skillset going into his senior year with the 2023 5A state runner-ups.

Bib #29: [player_tooltip player_id='924223' first='Dylan' last='Caspers'] (Hopkins) 2026. 6', 180 lbs.

The Hopkins gunslinger will be a four-year starter when it's all said and done, and he showed his experience and arm talent well in Plymouth this past Saturday. Good arm strength and accuracy, mechanics were sound and his feet and arm were in-synch, and he could stretch the field as well. Really happy he came and competed, as the MN 2026 QB class is looking like one for the record books and Caspers has very-much asserted himself in the upper-echelon of QB prospects.

Bib #101: [player_tooltip player_id='591982' first='Isaac' last='Belinske-Strauss'] (Centennial) 2026. 6', 165 lbs.

The next Centennial Cougars quarterback, IBS was one of the most athletic QBs in attendance and put his WRs in good position all afternoon long. Showed good timing and was accurate throughout the day of competition.

Running Backs

Bib #8: Jacob Tilly (St. Francis) 2025. 5'10, 185 lbs.

A top performer out of a loaded RB group at the Combine Series stop, Tilly is a distinguished track and field sprinter and he brought that speed to Plymouth in impressive fashion. Tested well, great form runner that brought a hard-to-manage pace as a receiver and with the ball in his hands, and was comfortable and effective in space. Looked loose and fluid and athletic all afternoon.

Bib #50: [player_tooltip player_id='1247065' first='Benjamin' last='Bergan'] (Anoka) 2027. 6'2, 210 lbs.

You don't see freshmen built like Anoka's Bergan very often. A rock-solid 6'2, 210 lbs. with significant muscle development for a 15-year-old, Bergan continued to get better and better as the day progressed and fit in very well against upperclassmen, 6A, Metro competition. Already owns standout athleticism that he used to compete, win, and occasionally dominate on Saturday. Showed off burst, coordination, and some good hops that allowed to high point the rock and win contested catches. Physical as well. Prior to this, I didn't have Bergan anywhere near my radar, and due to his performance in Plymouth he should see himself debut highly in the upcoming 2027 MN rankings introduction. What a freshman we have on our hands!

Bib #69: [player_tooltip player_id='402073' first='James' last='Engle'] (Maple Grove) 2026. 5'8, 175 lbs.

A powerful and spring-loaded rising junior RB, Engle has bounced back from a broken leg he suffered during his sophomore season impressively and with something to prove. One of the fastest prospects in attendance on Saturday, Engle posted back-to-back 4.62 40s, and man was he cookin'. The breakneck speed was put to good use during competition as well, and when combined with his outstanding footwork, Engle was arguably the toughest RB to corral and handle in space for opposing LBs. He was lethal when given room on Saturday and was a polished route runner and pass catcher amongst the RBs as well.

Bib #148: [player_tooltip player_id='641223' first='Zach' last='Welch'] (Anoka) 2025. 5'11, 205 lbs.

Helluva day by the Anoka junior, who is one of the hardest hitting LBs in the state but has recently been making significant waves as a RB prospect at the next level. Passed the eye test at a ripped and muscular 205 pounds, Welch tested well (4.75 40, 4.43 short-shuttle, 9'8" broad), showed some of the best burst and acceleration of any prospect in attendance, and was overall very explosive throughout positional drills and 1-on-1s. He was mean (in a good, competitive way) intense, and had some of his opponents shaking in their cleats and overthinking their upcoming rep with the Anoka standout, and ultra-physical, and during competition he demonstrated the ability to cut on a dime, utilize and take advantage of space, and catch the ball out of the backfield. Big fan of his physical attributes, intensity, dynamic skillset, and performance on Saturday. He'll be quite the popular 2025 on the recruiting trail.

[player_tooltip player_id='641223' first='Zach' last='Welch'] - Anoka. 2025. Ran in the 4.7s during the 40, Gibbs had the speed to take the top off the defense, which CBs respected but allowed Gibbs to take advantage. Lethal at the LOS and top of the route, Gibbs was a twitchy and controlled route runner who could create separation at multiple points throughout a route. Great hands, confident, and tracked the ball well, I kept hearing the word "juice" mentioned when coaches and scouts would talk about the rising senior pass catcher. I think it's a fitting adjective given his performance, he ate up man coverage all afternoon long in Plymouth.

Bib #88: [player_tooltip player_id='1240284' first='Gavin' last='Gall'] (St. Cloud Tech) 2025. 5'11, 170 lbs.

Phenomenal day for the St. Cloud product. Gall absolutely tore up the competition during 1-on-1s and was very difficult for DBs to handle at the top of the route. Gall was arguably the most sudden receiver in attendance and ran some of the most crisp, eye-catching, and quick routes of any WR at the Combine. Won a ton of reps and did so in impressive fashion. Great day and has exploded onto the 2025 MN WR radar.

Bib #94: [player_tooltip player_id='369905' first='Tate' last='Nelson'] (Two Harbors) 2025. 5'11, 160 lbs.

Sadly, we were denied the full [player_tooltip player_id='369905' first='Tate' last='Nelson'] experience on Saturday. With a decorated track background and real-deal speed as a sprinter and RB/WR, Nelson was on pace to be the #1 top tester on Saturday among more than 150 competitors before tweaking his hamstring while running his second 40 of the day. Nelson brought his track speed to Plymouth, clocking in the low 4.6s in the 40 and looking great while doing it, and added multiple 4.2 shuttles and a 9'8 broad jump for good measure. Those are D1 testing numbers for his size and age, and Nelson did a great job of affirming and solidifying his stock, ranking, and D1 upside and potential despite not competing. It was unfortunate too, as Nelson was poised to be the most explosive WR of the day. However, the tweak was not serious and you'll be seeing the Duluth product competing for a 100M state title in a month or two. Great job and thanks for coming, Tate!

Bib #152: [player_tooltip player_id='343080' first='Owen' last='Egge'] (Stillwater) 2026.

Another seasoned PRzMN Showcase veteran and multi-time top performer selection, Egge put on a route running clinic during 1-on-1s, showing smooth and sudden breaks, consistency in hitting his landmarks and creating separation throughout the route, tight angles on his shorter and more intermediate routes, and never wasting a stop. He goes hard and gives 100% each and every rep, has the speed to take the top off the defense, and is fearless when climbing the ladder and high-pointing the football. DBs had their hands full when going up against Egge last Saturday.

Tight Ends

Bib #46: [player_tooltip player_id='1120558' first='Kaleb' last='Ngwendson'] (Eastview) 2025. 6'2, 225 lbs.

Would have been my pick for WR MVP despite his TE designation, Ngwendson has made significant strides since the December StockUp Showcase despite setting the bar impressively high at that winter event. A kid you absolutely want coming off the bus first, Ngwendson looks like a bodybuilder and owns one of the more cut up physiques I've seen covering MN high schoolers the past five years. He also knows how to use it, as Ngwendson really sharpened his route running ability up and was much looser and smoother out of his breaks and when changing direction compared to December, and his speed was really noticeable as well. Ngwendson was beating, stacking, and burning DBs 50 pounds lighter than him, was displaying some effective and impressive releases off the LOS, and demonstrated some ability to climb the ladder and win contested catches. Great day from the Eastview junior, who also went 4.8 in the 40. We have ranked as a DE/EDGE right now, but after his performance on Saturday, I'm seriously considering switching him over to TE. Great job, Kaleb!

Bib #129: [player_tooltip player_id='924222' first='Henry' last='Hauge'] (Lakeville South) 2026. 6'5, 233 lbs.

My overall #1 top winner from the PRzMN Combine Series, Lakeville South's TE/OL [player_tooltip player_id='924222' first='Henry' last='Hauge'] catapulted himself into the P5 recruiting space after his performance on Saturday. Possessing a legit 6'5, 230 lb. frame that is still absurdly long & lean, Hauge had my mouth agape after his personal testing performance to open the showcase, posting an ultra-impressive 4.81 40 at over 230 pounds and adding a 4.75 short-shuttle and 8'6" broad jump for good measure. Folks, that is impressive and then some, and his raw size and athleticism does not grow on trees and is in the upper-echelon of athletic numbers, especially for a sophomore. Plus, Hauge ran routes and drills with the receivers and earned some nice Ws during 1-on-1s as a route runner, showing some smooth COD ability, overall fluidity, and loose hips for a 6'5 pass-catcher. I think he projects best to the OL at the next level, but his TE-worthy mobility and athleticism spells out excellent things for his future along the LOS, no matter where he lines up. Get to know this name, folks! He'll be making big waves on the recruiting trail sooner rather than later.

Offensive Line

Bib #126: [player_tooltip player_id='1202010' first='Jackson' last='Duncan'] (Becker) 2025. 6'4, 240 lbs.

One of my Top Performers and MVPs out of the loaded OL group, Duncan absolutely showed that he could hang with the big boys and had a heckuva day during 1-on-1 competition. Coming out of the small school ranks that generally emphasize run blocking over pass protection, Duncan showed he had no problem pass blocking, owning a clean pass set, great COD ability when mirroring and staying square to rushers laterally, and could reach the top of the arc quickly and handle rushers with significant bend. I loved his base, footwork, and hand usage combination, and he had some strong wins against top-notch big school competition to emphasize his skillset. I also loved his coachability, competitive streak, and frame, which could hold and handle significantly more mass at the next level. Duncan absolutely upped his stock this past Saturday in Plymouth.

Bib #136: [player_tooltip player_id='1120571' first='Peter' last='Okafor'] (Park Center) 2025. 6'2, 315 lbs.

The top performer out of the loaded OL group last Saturday in Plymouth, Park Center's [player_tooltip player_id='1120571' first='Peter' last='Okafor'] is having a heckuva productive offseason that is following up another standout performance during December's PRzMN Stock-Up Showcase. Okafor is a hulking and physically overwhelming OT who is quite the impressive athlete at the position. His pass set is consistent, smooth, clean, and easy on the eyes, as Okafor is extremely balanced, technically sound, and coordinated, and he does a great job of staying square, dropping his hips and bending for a big boy, and never overextending. He gets vertical, drops his anchor, and allows rushers to come to him, where his strength, massive and aggressive hands, and ability to get DL off-balance do the rest of the work. If Okafor catches you even slightly out of position or gets both his paws on your chest and it is game over. Great finisher, patient, and overall athletic, Okafor was confident and locked in during 1-on-1s, even giving the awe-inspiring [player_tooltip player_id='592117' first='Howie' last='Johnson'] a run for his money on a couple of reps. Tons to like in the Park Center junior whose best football is still in front of him. Little bit of work on his weight and an emphasis on consistency once the pads come on and this dude is going to be very popular on the recruiting trail.

Bib #137: Liev Jacquemart (Prior Lake) 2025. 6'3, 235 lbs.

I am very excited to add yet another new Prior Lake name to the 2025 class of recruits. Playing Center, Jacquemart brought good size to the table with a long, lean frame that could hold a significant amount more weight and really blow up in a college S&C program and plan. He was a Top Performer out of the OL group and a coaches favorite from the PRzMN Combine Series, and he used a good combination of pad level and strength to handle bull rushes and power moves from some very large and aggressive 3Ts and NGs. Tough at the point of attack, laterally agile, technically sound and consistent, and competitive, he was also very coachable and had a good overall showing during all three phases of the Showcase. He's getting on the 2025 rankings ASAP.

Bib #138: [player_tooltip player_id='945923' first='Cooper' last='Mansfield'] (Elk River) 2025. 6'10, 280 lbs.

The biggest lineman in the state and one of the tallest in the entire Midwest, Elk River's FBS-offered OT [player_tooltip player_id='945923' first='Cooper' last='Mansfield'] has made significant strides since December's Stock-Up Showcase and looked a lot more comfortable in a pass set than compared to this winter. With absurd height, length, and overall raw ability, Mansfield has also added notable strength so far this offseason, showing a great base and the strength to handle power rushes at the point of attack with added ease. He adjusted well to the path of pass rushers during 1-on-1 reps and has gotten smoother and more efficient at changing direction, and has been sharpening his pass pro technique as well. Big overall strides and gains since December have really added to the excitement surrounding the giant OT and he has only raised his ceiling as a prospect (pun intended) this offseason. Great to see your dedication and hard work continuing to pay off, Cooper! More offers are coming.

Defensive Line

Bib #60: [player_tooltip player_id='1187339' first='Fletcher' last='Olness'] (Minnetonka) 2025. 6'3, 235 lbs.

The Minnetonka Skipper DE rose his stock in impressive fashion on Saturday in Plymouth, pulling off one of the best DL performances at the even while bringing real-deal size and athleticism to the table as a 5T prospect. Clocked a 5.12 40 at nearly 240 pounds, Olness was ultra-competitive and brought great energy and intensity into competition that he maintained to lethal effect as a pass rusher. His bend was outstanding and he beat blockers to that upfield shoulder all afternoon long, coming away with a ton of pass rushing Ws and showing a hard-to-manage skillset for opposing OTs to try and handle. Also showed an impressive get-off and effective and active hand usage. Will see his rank rise in the upcoming 2025 rankings micro-update!

Bib #125: [player_tooltip player_id='1118428' first='Charlie' last='Olson'] (Elk River) 2025. 6'3, 235 lbs.

A must-know DE in the MN 2025 class, Olson already debuted highly in the recently updated 2025 Big Board but will see that ranking climb even higher after his performance this past Saturday. Great size, Olson clocked a noteworthy 5.3 40 and a very impressive 4.6 short-shuttle, showing off quickness and lateral ability that translated very well to 1-on-1 reps. The Elk River product battled his butt off all Saturday, and although he took lumps along the way, I came away very impressed with his athleticism, competitiveness, coachability, and versatile skillset as a 5T. Olson possesses impressive bend at the top of the arc, quickness and twitch to beat blockers to either shoulder, and effective power moves and rushes on top of it all. When he'd overextend or get out of position OL would take advantage, but when the junior stayed square, low, and balanced, he was a heckuva opponent to try and handle. Love his game.

Bib #127: [player_tooltip player_id='592117' first='Howie' last='Johnson'] (Forest Lake) 2026. 6'4, 250 lbs.

I won't drag things on here, as I've just said about every good thing about Forest Lake's superstar sophomore DE [player_tooltip player_id='592117' first='Howie' last='Johnson'] prior to his top-tier performance at the PRzMN Combine Series stop in Plymouth. A bonafide P5 talent, Johnson's pass-rushing repertoire and skillset is as advanced as I've seen in a sophomore, and he once again put it on full display during competition last Saturday. "Natural" is the big word that comes to mind, as Johnson processes, reacts, adjusts, and counters at lightning-quick pace, which allows him to see and set up OL three steps ahead, and he is also able to identify and take advantage of weak points and weaknesses in his opponent's game. He can beat you any and every way imaginable, as I saw him win with his get-off, twitch, bend, power, hand usage, and explosiveness. He owns and used a chop/rip, push/pull, long arm/stab, and even a spontaneous hump move, all with lethal impact, and could win at the top of the arc or when working across a blockers chest. Great size, intensely competitive, soaks in knowledge and coaching like a sponge, and has all the makings of a P5 pass rusher. Just waiting on that first offer! Shouldn't be long now, you don't find this kind of "natural" pass rushing ability growing on trees.

[player_tooltip player_id='592117' first='Howie' last='Johnson'] - Forest Lake. 2026. Does show some quickness and bend, owns a good first step, and uses that length to his advantage when he locks out and extends his arms. Great frame that could hold a ton more weight and mass as well. Another big-time name to know out of the budding MN 2026 recruiting class.

Bib #140: [player_tooltip player_id='234847' first='Avaugn' last='Dorvil'] (St. Thomas Academy) 2025. 6'1, 285 lbs.

Everything about STA's Dorvil screams defensive tackle, in a great way. Not sure how I missed the 6'1, 285 lber. in the recent PRzMN 2025 Rankings Update, but I take full responsibility and must reiterate that it was nothing to do with Dorvil, his skillset, or his production. He checks all those boxes and added to his resume with a great showing at Saturday's PRzMN Combine Series showcase. A monster during 1-on-1s, the junior Cadet was both twitchy and powerful, owned a great first step that really set OCs and OGs off balance and scrambling to adjust, and showed that he was lethal when countering and working off offensive linemen's punch and blocking attempts. Great hands, good leverage and pad level advantage that his wrestling background surely adds to, and is overall a great athlete at the position. He won a ton of reps in a ton of different ways during competition. He'll be debuting highly in the upcoming 2025 micro-update on the PRzMN site.

Linebackers

Bib #36: [player_tooltip player_id='665266' first='Mason' last='Davis'] (Chaska) 2026. 6'1, 210 lbs.

The PRzMN Combine really made me excited for the 2026 LB class in MN, a position group that was already showing promise through the fall of 2023. Chaska Hawks sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='665266' first='Mason' last='Davis'] solidified himself as a name to know after his performance on Saturday in Plymouth through all three phases of the showcase. Went 9'6 on the broad jump and translated that power well into competition, where he shot out of his stance, closed well, was quick when changing direction, and took good angles in coverage and run support. Overall smooth, fluid, and strong and seems like a kid who would turn it up when the pads get strapped up.

Bib #55: Calan Pilon (Robbinsdale Armstrong) 2026. 6'3, 200 lbs.

Great frame, lots of room to fill in, and above all: physical. Pilon really turned things up a notch when the RBs and LBs merged together for some competition and was flying around and closing on ball carriers like his hair was on fire. We don't want nor condone big, physical collisions in camp settings, but Pilon couldn't turn off that physical edge and was closing so fast on RBs that he instigated and created some big, powerful hits throughout drills. He just doesn't let or pull up when coming into contact. A good quality for a LB no doubt.

Bib #57: [player_tooltip player_id='1201980' first='Michael' last='Kelecic'] (St. Thomas Academy) 2025. 6'3, 225 lbs.

My alpha dog of the loaded LB group at the PRzMN Combine Series, St. Thomas Academy's rising senior Kelecic put on a show during competition and is a physically massive darkhorse of a LB recruit in the 2025 class. Possessing D1 size that passed the eye test with flying colors, I'm also under the impression that Kelecic has D1 ability after his in-person performance on Saturday in Plymouth. Play speed was eye-catching and effective, did a great job of breaking down in space and changing direction, and tracked the hip and closed with pace naturally and like a predator tracking his prey. Kelecic also absolutely ate a kid's lunch during pass-pro work and put on an overall dominate performance at Saturday's showcase.

Bib #121: [player_tooltip player_id='1216090' first='Reece' last='Hunt'] (Lakeville North) 2025. 6'2, 230 lbs.

One of the prospects I was most excited to get a first-look at this past Saturday, Lakeville North's [player_tooltip player_id='1216090' first='Reece' last='Hunt'] lived up to the hype and was my pick for one of the top linebackers in attendance. On the gridiron, he plays more of an EDGE role compared to an off-ball LB, and his pass-rushing skillset was polished, powerful, technically sound, and obvious during the PRzMN Combine Series. Struck an imposing figure, flew downhill and closed with speed and pace, showed noticeable bend, and was athletic enough to change direction and stay on top of streaking RBs running routes. Powerful, physical, and dynamic, Hunt had a great showing and is going to be an awesome addition to the 2025 Big Board soon.

Defensive Backs

Bib #14: Kobee Thielen (Dassel-Cokato) 2025. 5'11, 180 lbs.

Thielen has risen his stock throughout this spring and is a sure bet to debut on the 2025 rankings micro-update after his performance on Saturday. One of the most athletic DBs in attendance, Thielen used that athleticism to his advantage all day long, showing off fluid mobility and quick COD ability that helped him stay sticky with WRs at the top of the route and when they were getting out of their breaks. Had more than enough speed to stay on top of WRs going deep as well. Solid size and confident in his strength and ability. Didn't back down from competition, Comes out of a well-coached DC program that has been developing prospects and getting them ready to compete early in college and Thielen is no exception there. Standout performer from a deep DB group.

Bib #71: [player_tooltip player_id='551299' first='Aaron' last='Briggs'] (Champlin Park) 2025. 5'8, 160 lbs.

The CB MVP of the PRzMN Combine Series showcase, Champlin Park Rebels 2025er [player_tooltip player_id='551299' first='Aaron' last='Briggs'] was a standout performer during all three phases of the event. Tested well, was confident, fluid, and loose during drill work, and saved his best stuff for 1-on-1s. Briggs won a ton of reps and flashed a good skillset for his coverage, as he was physical and balanced when pressing, laterally smooth when changing direction, had loose hips, the speed to stay on top of wideouts, and was overall sticky throughout 1-on-1 coverage in Plymouth. Locked down a variety of receivers on a variety of routes on Saturday. Rose his stock on Saturday.

[player_tooltip player_id='551299' first='Aaron' last='Briggs'] - 2025. One of the best performances of the skill positions in attendance this past Saturday in Plymouth, Swenson was confident, athletic, competitive, and was a lockdown defender all afternoon long during 1-on-1s. Physical at the LOS and at the top of the route, Swenson showed off great ball skills, was laterally quick and able to change direction seamlessly, and did a great job at the LOS of staying square, putting hands on the WR, and playing with a physical edge. He was able to compete all over the field and on routes to all three levels. Total package of a DB who balled out and then some at the PRzMN Combine Series.

Bib #149: Jaxon Broun

Don't have a ton of info on Bib #149, who was one of the top DB performers at Saturday's PRzMN Combine Series stop in Plymouth. I may have the name wrong, but this is what was listed on the testing numbers, and I couldn't cross check the name with any program successfully. I'd really like some accurate info on the walkup who wore #149, as he was easily a top performing DB from the event and showed off some lightning-quick COD ability in coverage, as his 4.3 short-shuttle hinted at. Super sticky in coverage, 149 was patient yet anticipated receivers movements and breaks well, processed and diagnosed route quickly and effectively, and once he got in a WRs hip pocket, he wasn't leaving. I appreciated his eye discipline, which he was steadfast and consistent with, and his timing when breaking up passes at the catch point was good as well. Lots of PBUs, competed on routes all over the field, and didn't shy away from competition. I really hope I can get some accurate info on this kid.
