Breakthrough Elite was nearly untouchable all tournament until they ran into the eventual champions CT-Prime in the quarterfinals. Overall I think they had the most impressive collection of athletes on their squad. While some teams stood out with some top players Breakthrough Elite had countless prospects that consistently were contributing to their wins.

Romy Jain Romy Jain 6’0″ | 185 lbs | QB Souhegan | 2025 State New E – who recently announced his decision to reclassify and transfer to Loomis Chaffee which will be updated on the site soon. Jain was one of the top QBs through the entire weekend and he showcased an impressive ability to make decisions and read the field. Jain was consistently hitting second reads and finding open guys all over the field. Jain showcased impressive arm strength and the ability to make every throw you can ask of a quarterback inside the 40-yard line. Jain was solid on day one but he got better with every game and by the beginning of Sunday had Breakthrough’s offense rolling.

Chevaunie Shakespeare Chevaunie Shakespeare 5’11” | 165 lbs | WR St Marks | 2026 State New E who goes by Chevy was one of my favorite performers on Breakthrough Elite’s squad. Shakespeare showcased high-level athleticism on both sides of the ball. Shakespeare is a smooth route runner and showcases burst and explosive movements as he changes direction. Shakespeare has good ball skills and consistent hands with the ability to catch away from his body. Shakespeare also plays the game with consistent effort always finishing his routes and finding open space offensively. A really impressive athlete with good ball skills who consistently was a top performer in the games he played.

Yariel Ortiz Yariel Ortiz 6’0″ | 170 lbs | ATH Everett | 2025 New E , I was really impressed with just after one game. Ortiz may not have gotten the amount of targets some of his teammates got but he was extremely effective when targeted. Ortiz is super twitched up and he makes these very subtle quick cuts to create separation of make guys miss after the catch he can generate some impressive explosiveness just out of those small movements. Impressive change of direction, jump cuts, stop and start ability, and Ortiz showcases the ability to separate at all three levels. Ortiz has good ball-tracking skills and shows good bend and flexibility being able to contort his body or change body positioning to make catches.

James Branch James Branch 6’0″ | 180 lbs | ATH West Warwick | 2025 State New E was a really solid performer for Breakthrough Elite and showcased some impressive positional versatility through the two-day tournament. Branch lined up at RB/WR/LB/SS and was effective all over the field. Branch is a good athlete and showcased smooth route running ability and impressive ball skills. Branch was effective on both sides of the ball showcasing really good instincts and ability to close on the ball. Branch is a well built prospect at nearly 200lbs he looked physical able to compete with anyone at any position with his size and athleticism.
Karl Swanson Karl Swanson 6’2″ | WR West Warwick | 2025 State New E is a long rangy defensive back prospect who had multiple big games and big plays for Breakthrough Elite. Swanson has a great frame at 6’2 and he showcased the ability to move and make plays in the air pointing the catch point and showcasing the ability. Swanson reads the quarterback well he showcased good closing speed and can follow through on the WR at the catch point breaking up passes. Swanson made some plays where his athleticism showcased the ability to get ahead of the route and create turnovers with INTs. A really solid performance throughout the weekend for Swanson.
