Yariel Ortiz Yariel Ortiz 6'0" | 170 lbs | ATH Everett | 2025 New E , I was really impressed with just after one game. Ortiz may not have gotten the amount of targets some of his teammates got but he was extremely effective when targeted. Ortiz is super twitched up and he makes these very subtle quick cuts to create separation of make guys miss after the catch he can generate some impressive explosiveness just out of those small movements. Impressive change of direction, jump cuts, stop and start ability, and Ortiz showcases the ability to separate at all three levels. Ortiz has good ball-tracking skills and shows good bend and flexibility being able to contort his body or change body positioning to make catches.

His athletic skills drew attention to many coaches in attendance.  He is quick, and he surely knows how to cover and be physical while doing so.  Has very good instincts and reactionary skills. Has a nice smooth back pedal and can flip his hips easily.  Very athletic and loves the game.  He displayed a very competitive character when chatting with him, and backed it up in his reps.

His film shows he surely knows where the ball is when it’s in the air and he is being targeted.  He will high-top or layout his body for any ball in his area to make a play.  He is a smooth runner with ball in his hands that looks for the YAC. He has very good vision and knows how to avoid defenders while getting upfield into running lanes. quickly.   Solid reliable hands are visible.  A clip at the 1:29 mark, shows his athletic balance and body control ability to make difficult catches. He gets off the snap of the ball with good burst and understanding of his route running needs to find a opening in zone coverages.  I would like to see some clips of him being covered in Man press but overall a good athlete with good athletic coordination who can make plays.
