QB Landon Rinnan Landon Rinnan 5’11” | 190 lbs | QB Urbandale | 2027 IA should take another step forward as he returns for year two under center for the J-Hawks. Landon took over QB1 duties as a freshman and ended the year with 565 passing yards, 205 rushing yards, and five touchdowns. Landon is a quick decision-maker with the ball and flashes a fast release once he’s locked onto his target. Rinnan showed he could deliver the ball with touch and can place it where his receiver needed it. Very good at extending the plays with his legs and showed that he can bust out a long run if you don’t get to him quickly. Expect a big leap in Landon’s sophomore year!

Dawson caught our attention back at the PRZ Stock Up showcase, where he had a great all-around performance. The Ankeny Centennial prospect even earned “All-Camp” honors and was among the best in his position group despite only being a freshman. He impressed with his overall athleticism posting testing numbers of 4.82 40-yard dash, 9’6″ broad jump, 4.94 shuttle drill, and a 7.94 L-drill. On tape, Dawson looks very natural at the linebacker position, where he does an excellent job reading his keys, filling his gaps, and being able to flow to the ball quickly. He’s a sound tackler when he gets to the ball carrier. Dawson has proven to be well-rounded as a thumper against the run and fluid when dropping into coverage. Good size at 6’0″ and 195 lbs. I look forward to seeing Dawson’s growth in the next few seasons.
Here’s a player who I’m excited to see how he steps into a bigger role next season. Lewis Central’s Hunter Infanger Hunter Infanger 6’0″ | 220 lbs | LB Lewis Central | 2027 IA is an impressive-looking athlete at 6’0″ and 220 pounds with a reported 465-lb squat and is among the top shot putters in the country in his age group. Hunter was part of a select group of freshmen who were called up to varsity for the 4A champions. I don’t have a ton of tape from Hunter’s freshman season, but considering Lewis Central’s ability to churn out college prospects, I’m confident it won’t be long before we hear about Hunter in recruiting circles.

Central Lee freshman Max Jones Max Jones 6’1″ | 200 lbs | LB Central Lee | 2027 IA wasted no time earning a starting role on the varsity squad. Max wrapped up year 1 with 21 tackles and several flashes of the high-level player he can become. Jones displayed a quickness to diagnose the play and was quick to break on the ball and step into his lanes. He showed the ability to fight off blockers while not giving up positioning. Max also showed nice closing speed and is smart about tackling angles. Lots to like about this young gun already!
