Continue ReadingEvery year we see a couple of kids leave New York to do post-grad years to help advance their recruitment, additionally we see players transfer schools for multiple reasons. Could be for playing time, could be a coaching change, even so much as a change of scenery, or going from public to private school or vice versa. Below are some of the guys who have changed schools or elected to do a post-grad year and some background on where they are headed. Check out the first edition HERE which even featured some prospects coming into the state.
Kulik, a talented prospect from WNY will reclassify and make the move to Connecticut where he will join one of the top prep programs at the Taft School. Kulik was an honorable mention for the All WNY teams at two different positions.
Highlights
Haly, had a great year for a Randolph team that featured a high-powered offense. Haly threw for over 2,000 yards and had 37 Total touchdowns, leading the PSAL. Haly will do a post-graduate year at Myrtle Breach Prep and look to put another impressive season on tape.
Maldonado was a hidden gem in New York, and the OL prospect from Queensbury will transfer and reclassify at the Pennington School in New Jersey, home to multiple P5 lineman. Maldonado, makes the move to help boost his recruitment and is a talented name amongst a strong 26′ OL class in New Jersey.
McGregor, a two-year contributor on a very talented St. Anthony’s team in the NYCHSFL will transfer and reclassify to Choate Rosemary Hall in Connecticut. Choate Rosemary Hall has been a perennial powerhouse in New England the past several years and McGregor will add to an already impressive offensive line that projects to have multiple division one talents with McGregor in the fold this fall.
Highlights
Bartlett, a talented athlete from Shenendehowa will be doing a post-grad year staying in the state and is headed to Milford Prep. Bartlett, whose Sophomore tape was excellent has been through multiple knee injuries and continues to battle and put some games on tape as a senior. Excited to see what Bartlett can do next year, and happy that he will still be in the fold in New York and that I can cover his post-grad season.
Highlights
Locke, who came to New York last summer from Georgia had an excellent season at Holy Trinity immediately stepping in and contributing. While Locke was deciding between multiple big-name schools last season he will end up only playing one season with Holy Trinity as he will move to Erasmus Hall for this upcoming season. Locke looks to be in-lane to help fill the hole of a couple of big graduations from the Erasmus Hall Secondary.
Highlights
Eskridge who is a dangerous athlete with the ball in his hands will make the move from Canisius to Bennett where his ability as a slot WR and returner should help alleviate the loss of Ja’Meer Thomas Ja’Meer Thomas 5’10” | 170 lbs | WR Bennett | 2024 State NY to Syracuse for Bennett. Eskridge adds a lot of juice to an already dangerous group of playmakers at Bennett.
