Continue ReadingHollman is a new addition to the rankings. At 6’4 he already has the desired length to play on the EDGE. He’s a twitchy rusher who has a strong get off and the speed to win the edge. When he engages blockers uses his hands and sheds well. Antwan shows good awareness and does a good job of remaining gap responsible. His plus trait is really his athleticism and explosiveness. He has the fluid hips and change of direction to play linebacker. When Hollman arrives to the ball he’s violent and runs through the ball carrier. His length and comfort level coming off the edge is why I project him to that position. With a strong camp season Antwan could break out onto the D1 college recruiting scene.

Nash is a versatile interior defensive lineman. He has the size and the strength to eat blockers and stuff the run. For a young man his size he’s pretty twitchy and explosive. His get off is a problem for blockers and he plays with great pad level. In pursuit he’s athletic and runs well once he gets free. Nash currently holds an offer from Toledo, but I expect Nash to burst onto the D1 and P4 scene this offseason.
Chilton plays defensive end for Grove City. While his film is junior varsity, he has traits that are easy to project forward. He’s explosive off the snap and accelerates quickly once he beats his man. What I like about him goes beyond his explosiveness. Shamar shows some polished pass rush moves that combined with his explosiveness make him very difficult to block. There is one play I’m thinking of specifically where his get off gets the offensive lineman on his heals and in one fluid and violent motion he dips his shoulder and rips to beat his man. As he continues to add good weight and strength, I think Chilton has an opportunity to turn into a really good varsity level defensive lineman who will start to get college attention.

At 6’2 295 Copeland is a load to handle. He’s a player who would have started at a lot of high schools, but because he plays at a very stacked Winton Woods program, he’s having to wait his turn. Tylan is another big man who also has an explosive get off. He’s versatile enough that he can play noseguard or rush tackle. He plays with good pad level and shoots gaps with ease. The impressive thing is that he really wins with pure size and athleticism. If he can start to develop some pass rush moves his ceiling is through the roof. He has a chance to go out this summer camp season and put himself squarely on the recruiting radar of D1 colleges.

At 5’11 215 Howery has a frame that wears his weight well. He projects to the defensive tackle position. Howery has a strong bull rush that he uses to overwhelm offensive linemen. He has the lateral movement to get outside of blockers. He has a motor that runs hot. Where I think Howery has the most room for growth is in the use of his hands. When he stalls, he has a tendency to get chest to chest with the blockers. If he can start to develop violent hands and I really think he’ll be able to take his game to another level.
