Already 6’2 he has a calming presence about him even when a play has broken down he does a great job going through his progressions. He can through on the run and in the pocket making him what many are saying as the top dual threat quarterback in the state for his class. You are going to like what this young man brings to the table trust me, he plays the game like he has been a starting qb for over 10 years.

Highlights
Ivan Thompson
Ivan Thompson
Ivan Thompson has a lot to be excited about regarding his future in football, the young man looks like he belongs. He runs with a long/physical stride that is a bit deceptive as he can run well too. It seems he has most of his route tree down pact which is one of many reasons why I expect him to have a major impact for the varsity squad in 2024. Thompson is already 6’0 and growing, he is going to be a force for years to come.
TayShawn Branche
TayShawn Branche
Maury defensive back TayShawn Branche is here to stay at on defense for the Commodores. He has a really good frame and his tackling form is both very good and precise. You can tell this young man loves to play the game. Playing safety, corner and a little outside linebacker for the freshmen squad, I think Branche will do himself wonders at numerous positions for the Commodores varsity squad.
Blake Mingo
Blake Mingo
Briar Woods fans may already be aware of this two-sport standout Blake Mingo, he is one of the top pitching prospects in the region. Mingo will also play wide receiver this fall for the Falcons, and he may be a nice target for all-star Brady Carmical. A baseball star who is already being hyped up in that regard, he has the size and frame that could be a very nice option to a loaded Briar Woods offense next year.
Jack Austin
Jack Austin
One of what could be many intriguing options for Victor McNeal and Ty Harris Ty Harris 6’1″ | 185 lbs | ATH Flint Hill | 2026 State VA to work with on offense for Flint Hill this year. Jack Austin is one of several sophomore wideouts who will be pushing for playing time on the opposite side of Harris, who as we know has already made his mark for the Huskies. Austin has good speed and hands it looks like he could find his way onto the field early as a sophomore.
