What is tricky about ranking receivers especially in state is that many of them including a few of top five below, play both sides of the football so it can be difficult to navigate. For example there are some kids who play the position at a high level but may play corner or safety better hence why they are listed as athlete. Nonetheless this is a good group with 10 players ranked in our overall top 100. The top five receivers for 2025 are listed below:
Freedom-Woodbridge Carleton Juju Preston is our top ranked receiver for 2025, his overall ranking came in at 11th.
The highest ranked kid from Prince William County is Clemson commit and Freedom star receiver/corner Carleton Preston . He will be entering his senior season hoping to become a 3 time state champion, with the Eagles graduating a ridiculous strong senior class, can Preston and company make it back their? Virginia high school football is very impressive and let me add residing in Northern Virginia this side of the state has excellent football. It is very cool to see Preston ranked this high, Dabo Swinney and his staff have been on him for quite some time, Clemson really is cleaning up the entire state.
The future Virginia Cavalier Isaiah Robinson Isaiah Robinson 6’3″ | 175 lbs | WR Trinity Episcopal | 2025 State VA checks in at number 2 out of his position and 17th overall, very impressive work. The four star two time state champion for Trinity Episcopal is the real deal, you can check out his highlight reel below. This kid’s route tree is extensive, he has explosion that reminds me of a young Terrell Owens or Andre Johnson. The way he is able to pull away from defenders after the catch is what stands out the most. Major institutions have been on him for his commitment since he was a freshmen, was curious to see why he chose UVA so early in the process but after reading what he said I understand now more. Regardless of all that he is healthy again for his Senior season, one that could lead him to his third state title.

Possibly the fastest receiver from this class and future state champion in the 110 meter Hurdles is Green Run’s Emmanuel Taylor Emmanuel Taylor 6’1″ | 200 lbs | WR Green Run | 2025 State VA . What is most impressive about Taylor’s work is the strength and power he displays on both sides of the ball. Racking up 130 tackles with 8 sacks as a junior is no small feat itself, part of why he has over 10 FBS level offers. Even though he is first team all state linebacker/safety, he will make his calling at receiver at the next level. His explosion and speed alone are one thing, the way he does the little things too are another. Would not be shocked to see if Pittsburgh tries to lock him up when he has his official visit there in June, the Panthers faithful should be hoping he does too.

Oscar Smith High School traditionally in fact almost yearly produces stars and Alvin Jones the third is the next one in line. Jones himself has 10 FBS offers including one most recently from Michigan State. A speedster for the Tigers that has clocked in a 10.59 for the 100 meter dash, he does just have track speed folks this kid will be a power 5 football player when the dust settles. Too fast to seemingly not be outthrown on any deep ball, Jones has an extensive route tree and he could have well over 1,000 yards receiving this fall.
Checking in at number 5 (40th overall) is Huguenot’s Derrick Carter Derrick Carter 6’0″ | 180 lbs | WR Huguenot | 2025 State VA . Another speed merchant who is the type of receiver that if he is left uncovered on a blitz you best get him the ball cause he will score. A very football high intelligence watching the tape on Carter, he always seems to find the right hole in the opposing defenses to get open. Thus far he has four division 1 offers which should increase steadily with the new recruitment cycle in place. A 3.5 student with Power 5 speed, Carter can run any route in your playbook and get open for 6 too!
