So, I am going to break up my series of Top linemen into 3 sections. This section is on the top Offensive Linemen which are New York State Ranked through Prep Redzone.
Enright is an aggressive lineman that displays superb awareness. He was a pivotal part of a Canisius team that controlled the ground game for 2,631 yards and 31 touchdowns in 2023. One the more versatile prospects in Western New York, Patrick has experience playing every position on the Offensive Line. A two time All Catholic selection, Patrick Enright Patrick Enright 6’4″ | 275 lbs | OL Canisius | 2025 State NY is the highest rated lineman in the area for his agility mixed with phenomenal power. 2024 will bring about more accolades and he should be in the Trench Trophy conversation.
Ethan Farley Ethan Farley 6’4″ | 285 lbs | OL St. Francis | 2025 State NY started at Left Guard and is the man St. Francis likes to run behind, whether he is down blocking or pulling. His read and react timing on blitz pick up is great. He gained some recognition, getting Junior Day invites to some colleges like Bryant University but I felt he was overshadowed in many ways playing next to Georgia commit, Marcus Harrison Marcus Harrison 6’8″ | 335 lbs | OL St. Francis | 2024 State NY . However, at 6’4 285 lbs and a 77” wingspan, Farley should be a highly sought after senior in 2024.
Highlights
A two time All League selection, Yianni Moore Yianni Moore 6’1″ | 270 lbs | OL Maryvale | 2025 State NY is a good collegiate prospect that can play both sides of the ball. His prowess as a Left Tackle on offense and playing the Nose position on defense shows his high endurance. As an Offensive Lineman, Moore blocks to the whistle and is excellent at reaching the second level. He has a good kick step in pass protection and is aggressive at the point of attack.
Highlights
One lineman that is flying under the radar is Devn Darrell. Darrell is someone to monitor in 2024 on offense and defense. He can control the interior line on both sides of the ball as a Center and Defensive Tackle. He has a high motor and moves well. His footwork is good, and his snaps are on point. Short for a lineman at around 6′, Devin is over 300 lbs. and can still manhandle opposing players.
Ikegwuonu is a tenacious blocker that brings a great combination of speed and power that is seldom seen. But it is on the Defensive Line where Sam Ikegwuonu Sam Ikegwuonu 6’3″ | 290 lbs | DL Lackawanna | 2025 State NY is best suited; with his deceptive speed and brute strength, he dominated opposing offenses accumulating 174 career tackles (28 for loss) and 8.5 sacks. A three year starter, Sam has received accolades from the All Western New York team as well as the All State team. He was named Defensive Player of the Year for Class B3 as a Junior. He has extraordinary athleticism and at 6’4 325 lbs. He will be a notable senior in 2024.
Highlights
A team captain, Alan Hostettler Alan Hostettler 6’1″ | 250 lbs | OL Frontier | 2025 State NY was the catalyst for Frontier’s run first attack. As a Center, he dominated the middle of the opposing defense being named the school’s Offensive Lineman of the Year twice. He is somewhat small by linemen standards, but he makes up for it with his high football IQ and determination. Alan Hostettler Alan Hostettler 6’1″ | 250 lbs | OL Frontier | 2025 State NY is a 3-sport star at Frontier (football, wrestling and lacrosse) which will bring him a lot of adulation from colleges.
As a Left Tackle, Joe Lipski Joe Lipski 5’11” | 240 lbs | OL Williamsville South | 2025 State NY is the 39th ranked lineman in the State. He does have a good kick step and is exceptional in pass protection as well as run blocking but he is such a multi-skilled player, defense may be where his star shines the brightest. Lipski can play Defensive Tackle or Linebacker, where he accumulated 120 tackles (15 for loss) and 2 sacks in two seasons. He may be overlooked as a Senior but Lipski is an intriguing prospect that can play a variety of positions.
