This past month has been dedicated to the class of 2027, which is a class that is loaded with talent. Over the past couple weeks, I have focused on the top five players at each position so now I wanted to focus on some key players at each position that landed outside the top five that I believe people should be paying close attention to. With that being said, I will be doing a “Stock Watch” series highlighting each position in the 2027 class, starting with the quarterbacks.
Korbyn Edwards Korbyn Edwards 5’11” | 165 lbs | QB Wayne County | 2027 State KY is a quarterback that jumped onto our radar with an impressive freshman year. Edwards completed 112/205 passes for 1,658 yards, 18 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in 11 games. He has a very strong arm which he uses to stretch the field and hit his receivers in stride in the deep passing game. Edwards also has shown impressive accuracy, showing the ability to put the ball where only his intended receiver can catch it. Korbyn also showed the ability to tuck the ball and make plays with his legs when needed, finishing the season with 90 carries for 443 yards and five touchdowns. Edwards doesn’t currently hold any offers but should be a player to watch over the next three seasons.
Highlights
Max Johnson Max Johnson 6’3″ | 185 lbs | QB Apollo | 2027 State KY is another quarterback who caught our attention this past season. He had a strong freshman year, completing 98/168 passes for 1,322 yards, nine touchdowns, and six interceptions in 10 games. Johnson is very impressive when escaping the pocket, showing the ability to keep his eyes down the field to make throws on the run. He also has a strong arm which he uses to stretch the field in the deep passing game. Johnson also finished this past season with 59 carries for 108 yards and three touchdowns. Max doesn’t currently hold any offers but is a player to keep an eye on going into his sophomore year.
Highlights
Jack Bradley Jack Bradley 6’2″ | 180 lbs | QB Bethlehem | 2027 State KY is a young quarterback that showed some nice potential in his first season of high school football. He had a solid freshman season, completing 58/94 passes for 1,010 yards, seven touchdowns, and two interceptions in 12 games. Bradley does a great job of handling pressure, showing the ability to escape the pocket and make tough throws on the run while taking on contact. He also puts a nice amount of touch on his passes, showing the ability to put the ball where only his intended receiver can catch it. Bradley doesn’t currently hold any offers but is a player to keep an eye on as he continues to develop.
Although he played in a backup role last season, Guy Turner Guy Turner 6’2″ | 175 lbs | QB Boyle County | 2027 State KY is a player to keep an eye on heading into his sophomore year. Turner has impressive footwork which he uses to navigate around the pocket. He also has an impressive quick release and the arm strength to stretch the field in the deep passing game. Turner doesn’t currently hold any offers but will have a lot of eyes on him over the next few seasons as he takes the reins in the Boyle County offense.
The final quarterback in my 2027 “Stock Watch” series is Javis Wallace Javis Wallace 5’11” | 150 lbs | QB Moore | 2027 State KY from Moore. Wallace showed some promise as a freshman, completing 76/155 passes for 888 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 11 games. He has the arm strength to lead his receivers down the field in the deep passing game and has also shown the ability to escape the pocket and make tough throws on the run. While he showed some promise as a passer , he is also very impressive as a ball carrier, running the ball 118 times for 525 yards and 12 touchdowns this past season. Wallace doesn’t currently hold any offers but should be a player to keep an eye on over the next few seasons.
