Continue ReadingAs we get deeper into the 2024 high school football offseason in the state of Kentucky, it is time for another round of rankings updates. The updated Top 150 player rankings for the class of 2026 in the state of Kentucky has been officially published! With that being said, I wanted to take the next week or so to break down these rankings by position. After already covering the quarterbacks, running backs, and receivers, here are our top tight ends in the class of 2026 in the state of Kentucky.
Eli Pietrowski Eli Pietrowski 6’4″ | 210 lbs | TE Corbin | 2026 State KY has continued to establish himself as one of the top overall players in the state in his class. Pietrowski is a big, athletic tight end who plays a key role in Corbin’s passing game. He finished this past season with 12 receptions for 272 yards and three touchdowns in 12 games. Eli has a high catch radius, showing the ability to use his frame and athleticism to catch passes at their highest point, regardless of what type of coverage is around him. He has also shown the speed to blow by opposing defensive backs to pose as a threat in the deep passing game. Pietrowski currently holds offers from Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect more to come his way as he is a true Power 4 caliber prospect.
Will Morris Will Morris 6’2″ | 230 lbs | TE Mayfield | 2026 State KY is a player that jumped onto our radar following a strong sophomore season. Morris made a key impact in the Mayfield passing game, catching 15 passes for 234 yards and a touchdown in 14 games. He has shown the speed to pose as a reliable threat down the seam. Morris is also a very reliable blocker, showing the ability to drive his man out of the picture to create a running lane for the ball carrier. Will doesn’t currently hold any offers but he deserves some college interest as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
Jaxson Byrd Jaxson Byrd 6’3″ | 205 lbs | TE Barren County | 2026 State KY is another tight end that caught our attention this past season. He is very dangerous in the passing game, finishing his sophomore year with 40 receptions for 519 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games. Byrd runs routes like a true receiver, showing the ability to use smooth breaks in his routes to create separation. He also has the speed to pose as a threat in the deep passing game. Byrd doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is definitely a player to keep an eye on heading into his junior year.
Highlights
Another tight end that jumped into our rankings recently is Keegan Farrell Keegan Farrell 6’5″ | 200 lbs | TE Newport | 2026 State KY . Farrell is a big, athletic tight end who is a reliable target in the passing game. Keegan finished this past season with 23 receptions for 288 yards and five touchdowns in 12 games. He is a very reliable jump ball threat, showing the ability to use his size and athleticism to go up and catch passes at their highest point. Farrell has also shown the strong hands to bring in passes through contact. Keegan doesn’t currently hold any offers but is a player that college coaches should be keeping a close eye on.
To wrap up our top five tight ends in the class of 2026 in the state of Kentucky, I have Micah Akin Micah Akin 6’0″ | 175 lbs | TE Christian Academy of Louisville | 2026 State KY . This past season, Akin showed that he is a reliable target in the passing game, catching nine passes for 128 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games. He is a smooth route runner, showing the ability to use breaks in his routes to get open with ease. Akin has also shown the speed to get up the field after the catch to pick up extra yards. Micah doesn’t currently hold any offers but should be a player to keep an eye on as he continues to develop.
