Hill is another one of the premier defensive back prospects on the west coast, and had a stellar first season for Inglewood. He passes the eye test and has long arms, elite recovery speed downfield and is outstanding in press coverage. He currently has 8 FBS offers on the table from ASU, Florida, Fresno State, Colorado State, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oregon and Washington. Checking in inside the top five at his position in California and just outside the top ten overall, he has impressive freshmen tape where he shows he can use his length to break up passes and be left alone on a island against bigger receivers and jams them up near the LOS while a natural peddler and has quick COD abilities as well. With his length and downfield speed, he is an elite caliber prospect that will be wanted by most all programs in the country.
Lang checks into our number six spot in this loaded 2027 defensive back class, and already holds offers from Utah, Texas, Tennessee, Florida and Cal with other national suitors on the way. He got plenty of playing time for one of the top programs in the country, and flashes on film in both coverage and run support. He shows that he can play both corner and safety and drops into the box and quickly can get into the backfield and make plays near the LOS with closing speed and is an excellent open field tackler. In coverage, he is a high IQ kid with a quick pedal and fluid hips in transition, while showing some good recovery length and speed when trailing and plays physical with his hands near the LOS. Playing well above his years, he is an elite prospect in this class and is one of the most well rounded defensive backs in the state and will be a 25+ offer kid.
Wright checks into our rankings inside the top ten at the DB position, and is coming off a stellar frosh campaign for Long Beach Poly. He has solid length, long arms and a frame that will be able to hold more weight as he progresses through his high school career. Oregon and Colorado State have already offered, and he should see another slew of offers come in sooner rather than later. On tape, he is a big time high IQ kid that can quickly processes plays, reacts quickly in zone coverage and can bait quarterbacks into bad throws before breaking on the ball. Wright also shows he can come off receivers and close on the ball while showing outstanding ball skills in transition, and also shows he can operate the entire back end of the field when playing that single high safety. This ’27 class of defensive backs from California is elite, and Wright is right up there with the best of them.
