It takes a special talent to entice college coaches to extend an offer to an underclassmen. However, we have seen it a few times every year here in Wisconsin. It isn’t just those handful of athletes though. There are several others that could be on the verge of their first college offer. We are going to look at their film and breakdown the strengths of why I could see them earning offers in the near future.
Mitchel is one of those linemen that WI produces that you can tell early on will be a special prospect. He has grown into a massive 6’4″ 290 lbs athlete with an 80″ wingspan, and he sets himself apart from the crowd because of how well he moves, how strong he is, and the technique he plays with. Mitchel fits the guard position so well. His heavy hands jump off the tape as he tosses around DL and LBs with ease. He has a stout anchor in pass protection. His feet and body control allow him to slide laterally to mirror pass rushers. Bilicki also gets up to level two when needed also. The big man big man ended his season early to fix a shoulder issue, so he is full go, and should have a head turning camp season. Keep your eyes on this dude.

Mason looks better and better as he has started to fill out that long, lean frame. The 6’5″ DE is now up to 215 lbs and has all the length in the world that college coaches covet. This season’s highlights show that Mason is developing as an athlete too. He can really load up and spring out of his stance and quickly get into the backfield to wreck havoc. Once in the backfield, Mason has elite range to chase down plays and we see the lateral agility to make one on one tackles in space. That agility also comes up huge for him in his pass rush. Multiple times we see him make a lateral move that leaves the OT looking at empty grass. Mason is surpassingly sudden, and when that doesn’t work he is showing more and more effective hand fighting moves.

Despite being a sophomore, Ben’s tape shows a three down LB prospect. The 6’3″ 205 lbs ILB is building a well balanced game. He has strong instincts, reads the flow of the play and is able to slide to maintain his gap and then close on the RB in the hole. Ben does a great job of avoiding blockers between the tackles while mirroring backs in the backfield. Wenzel is a reliable tackler that you can count on ending the play when he makes contact. His ability to take on and shed blocks with his length and power is excellent. The sophomore is also impressive in coverage, showing range to get out in a zone and the ability to close and change direction in space. Check out his tape below.

Ryan Westrich
Ryan Westrich
Ryan is a monster in the making. He has an excellent frame packed with power and quickness. Ryan’s length and power make him a nightmare to block one on one. He can overpower with his bull rush and leverage. Ryan also does a great job taking on double teams and at least holding the line before being able to split it and get to the ball. On offense, Ryan fills the traditional TE role. One that can line up next to the OT and drive DEs off the ball opening up huge running lanes. He also proved he could be counted on as a receiver. The size, power, and raw athleticism is there to mold Ryan into a big time impact on either side of the ball.
We are only halfway through the HS careers of these athletes, but it is safe to say that Dominick is going to be firmly locked into a battle for DB1 throughout his career. Dominick has the speed and play recognition combination that will put him in position to play Saturday afternoons at a very high level. Walters is able to get anywhere on the field from his safety spot in time to meet the ball there. Dominick is a playmaker who is able to make the highlight reel plays and make them look easy. You can trust him to cover a deep zone, read the QB, and run deep with a man downfield or attack downhill on an underneath route. He is also an excellent last line of defense against the run game, however he usually closes so fast that he doesn’t end up being the last man to the ball. The potential within Dominick is extremely high. This kid needs to be on every radar.

An absolute mauler in the OL trenches is Appleton East’s Todd Marx Todd Marx 6’4″ | 280 lbs | OL Appleton East | 2026 State WI . The 6’4″ 280 lbs OT dominates his opponents. He bulldozes over them and finishes his blocks with aggression. The kid is so strong and powerful plus he plays with excellent technique and leverage to further maximize the power he packs. It is so impressive how he always maintains a wide base and good knee/ankle bend so he is always ready to make contact with his full power. I can rave all day about how strong and how clean Todd’s technique is, and then you add that he is a very solid athlete that can pull across the formation and deliver pancake blocks or get up to the second level and again land those massive blocks. Todd is already high in the rankings, but not high enough. A solid bump is coming for him in our next update these coming weeks.
