Almost all of these guys I have seen live at some point this past season and like all of their potential as they continue to develop. A lot of big time athletes, you will see some trends as what stands out in what makes a scholarship safety prospect. All of these players will be ones to see this camp season and I can’t wait to get out and see more of them myself.

Tyrin is a player I have seen a few times over the last year and he is developing nicely into a high level player. He is great body kid filling out well and muscled up from head to toe and good length at a 73″ wingspan. Saw him live earlier this fall against Arundel HS and he had an outstanding game. Was all over the field, getting to the ball making strong tackles. While also having an INT in coverage, manning up the RB on a wheel route all the way down the field staying on his hip, tracking the pass well and then going up and high pointing the ball. Tyrin is effective in coverage showing fluid hips and good ball skills. He can play either safety position but I really like him down in the box where he is quick to diagnose plays and attack the ball. A strong tackler, he is physical and plays fast. Chinn is a good overall athlete, showing explosiveness and power and helping Broadneck making it to the state final while also making the all 4A East team. I expect Tyrin to garner a lot of attention from colleges this spring as he has shown to be an impact player at a high level.
Nasir was a key part of North Point’s undefeated regular season and making it to the state finals. He is a rangy DB with elite length, arms to his knees. Nasir can play as a single high safety or come down as an over hang. I love his instincts, he is quick to react to the ball and burst to the play. Will run the alley and come down hill with speed and physicality. One of his best traits is tracking the ball in the air and then attacking it at the highest point. He uses his length to his strength, a strong leaper getting up over the receivers to get his hands on the ball first. It makes since he would be a strong athlete and jumper as he is also a basketball player. With his quick hips, twitch and explosiveness, Nasir shows great versatility at the safety position and will impress at camps this summer.
Ethan had a big year for Bullis this past fall making 1st team All IAC. He is a dynamic player, with twitchy hips and top level speed. A track kid, Ethan ran an 11.05 1oom spring of his soph year and he is only going to get faster. Not only does he have long straigh-line speed but Ethan also shows burst , closing speed and the ability to travel sideline to sideline. He will run the alley and fill and make the tackle. Not afraid to throw his body into the play. Good length in his frame and a strong wingspan allows Ethan to get a lot of PBUs. I really like Ethan’s overall athleticism and play speed. It allows him to play a single high centerfield or robber style as he is explosive enough to accelerate quickly and cover lots of ground. While also being physical enough to play downhill and get to the edge in run support. With his speed, skill set, and being a high academic kid with a 4.0 GPA – Ethan will be an offer take for a lot of schools.

Alex is a player primed to shoot up teams boards this spring. He has a prototype frame for the position standing at 6’2+” with arms to his knees. This past fall was his first year playing football for as he has been as basketball only kid previously. I’m sure Maret was happy to come out this season as he showed out this year and made All-Conference DB. A big time athlete with a self reported 4.6 40 and 39″ vertical jump, being able to 360 dunk with ease. Alex shows the ability to use his athletic skill set, leaping abiliy and length to make a lot of big plays. Getting plenty of PBUs in coverage and being able to go up and high point the ball for interceptions. Alex is very smooth on the field, plays on his toes and a nice strider. Still a bit raw in the intricacies technique wise for the position, but has the frame to fill out and be an impactful in the box SS or high safety in a cover 2 scheme. He is a prospect with a ton of potential / high ceiling as he continues to develop. I see Alex having a great camp season this summer as he passes the eye ball test and being a high academic kid with a 3.95 GPA, plenty of schools will be in on him.
Isaac Ramsey
Isaac Ramsey
Isaac is a kid I can’t wait to see more of this coming spring. Dynamic player with fluid, shifty hips. Isaac can turn and run and shows explosiveness every time he goes to make a play on the ball. A physical player as well and a strong tackler, he will hit you! Isaac is always chopping his feet ready to put his foot in the ground and go. Shows good COD and twitch which comes form being a hurdler in track as well. That equals to having strong hip activation and mobility, hence his quickness when turning to run and changing direction. A 2X All County DB, 1 time All Region DB, and a team captain as a junior. While also holding a 4.9 WGPA, and being an NHS Member, Isaac is a dude on and off the field. I like Mr. Ramsey as an in the box SS or even playing in the nickel while covering the edge in run support. As more college coaches get eyes on him and he continues to fill out his frame getting stronger, I see his recruiting taking off.
With Brooks we have the SS for Bullis pairing up with previously mentions Ethan who plays over the top at FS. Martin is a well slapped together kid, muscled up and a built frame, standing at 6’2′” and 190lbs. Strong and physical, he plays closer to the LOS as an in the box guy or lined up in a nickel/rover spot. What stands out most about Brooks’ game is his ability to quickly diagnose plays and break on the ball. He had 6 int’s on the year with many of them being plays where he reads the the route and breaks on the ball to undercut the receiver. That shows he also has strong ball skills and shows good hands as well. He will pluck the ball out of the air, or go up and get it which makes sense as he also plays WR for Bullis. A physical player Brooks will come down hill or across the middle to lay guys out. He throws his body into the tackle, plays with some nasty. A plus player in run support. I like Brooks as in the box player at the next level who can also be versatile in coverage. With his frame he could also develop into a 210+lbs over hang athletic LB/SS role. Brooks is also another high academic kid, holding a 3.8 GPA and holding a few IVY offers already. A lot of colleges will be stopping by in the spring to see Mr. Martin.
