Throughout the month of February, Prep Redzone Oklahoma is updating our prospect rankings for each class. And for the state’s 2025 class, we’re updating the rankings and expanding it to 175 prospects. Earlier this week, we released the 2025 Top 175 and throughout the week, we’ll be putting the spotlight on different players and position groups. In this post, we’re putting that spotlight on the defensive line and this is a position that is getting more and more impressive. Earlier this week, we covered Wagoner defensive lineman Alex Shieldnight Alex Shieldnight 6'3" | 230 lbs | DL Wagoner | 2025 State OK in our Top Ten Spotlight. We also covered Norman North defensive lineman Garrison Utley Garrison Utley 6'3" | 250 lbs | DL Norman North | 2025 State OK in our Top Stock Risers article. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more prospect breakdowns within the 2025 class. And check back each Monday this month for another class update!
When Jenks defensive lineman Hudson Ball Hudson Ball 6’2″ | 210 lbs | DL Jenks | 2025 State OK moved from Arkansas to Oklahoma in between his freshman and sophomore seasons. We were told that he could be a game-wrecker for the Trojans on the defensive line. He had a solid sophomore season but when we saw him again last fall as a junior, it all clicked. Ball was indeed that game-wrecker that we were told about nearly two years ago and he has the potential to be one of the more disruptive defensive linemen in the state, regardless of class. Ball is an absolute force and was one of the hardest hitters that we covered in person last fall. And in the last month, his recruitment has started to take off.
We first heard about Will Rogers Will Rogers DL Verdigris | 2026 OK defensive lineman Josiah Hammond Josiah Hammond 6’5″ | DL Union | 2025 State OK around this time last year. There was a lot of hype about his potential and we had to see it for ourselves. Hammond was impressive when we saw him in the spring and we bought into that potential and hype. He’s long, athletic and there’s a burst off the line that’s tough for opposing offensive linemen. Hammond has the potential to keep climbing the rankings and possibly be a top ten overall prospect. The ceiling is that high for him athletically. And just like Ball at Jenks, Hammond has seen his recruitment start to take off and it has exploded in recent weeks and the hype is real.

We go back to Jenks with defensive lineman Cash Jacobsen Cash Jacobsen 6’5″ | 250 lbs | DL Jenks | 2025 State OK joining Ball along the front for the Trojans this fall. We’ve said this a few times but Jacobsen was a prospect that we were fired up to see after his freshman season. His sophomore year ended with an injury and he came back with a vengeance last fall. Jacobsen is a lane clogger up the middle in the Jenks defensive line. He is a powerful prospect that does so many different things well. Jacobsen’s stats aren’t going to blow you away but when you look at his film or in person, you see the impact he has as he is opening things up for guys like Ball or the talented linebackers to make a play.
Highlights
Bishop McGuinness standout Zach Tawwater Zach Tawwater 6’5″ | 230 lbs | DL Bishop McGuinness | 2025 State OK is a 2025 prospect that we’ll have a close eye on as we move closer to spring ball and the summer months. Tawwater has the potential to be one of the better prospects at his position but in the last two seasons, it’s been hard to pin point what that position is. We’ve seen Tawwater make plays on both sides of the ball and he’s been valuable to the Irish on both sides. He’s an athletic big man that also has excelled on the basketball floor. It’s clear that he’s very athletic and can move around and do a variety of things. But we think that his natural position is on the defensive line as an edge rusher.
Owasso defensive lineman Reece Satterwhite Reece Satterwhite 6’2″ | 250 lbs | DL Owasso | 2025 State OK is another 2025 prospect that made a big leap in the latest ranking update. We definitely benefitted from seeing Satterwhite up close and personal at our camp in January and he dominated. He would end up running away with the MVP for the defensive line and there’s no doubt that he’s put a lot of work in during the offseason already. Satterwhite has been training with former Oklahoma State defensive lineman Christian Littlehead and for those unfamiliar, Littlehead is one of the best in the state at what he does. And you can see that Satterwhite is already a better football player and prospect.
