There are multiple guys that stand out so much you can’t help but remember their name and the plays they make. Next year will be no different as Saline will have multiple key guys on their defensive line who will be very good. The other two guys I have mentioned here I really like their respective games and look forward to watching them compete and help their teams win games. If you watch a lot of SEC Red football you must have these guys on your radar next season.
Isaiah Harris Isaiah Harris 6'2" | 205 lbs | DL Saline | 2026 State MI | Saline | 2026 | Hudl
Harris was very dominant for Saline this past year. There are times were he is completely disruptive and living in opponents backfields. Harris is not shy about hitting quarterbacks hard. When he is left unblocked he can accelerate in the backfield in a hurry. Harris does a have good quickness off the snap that allows him to beat offensive tackles with speed. Harris stepped up in a big way for the Saline defense this year. He will be a key impact player next year and certainly a guy to watch.
Mateo Kipe | Dexter | 2026 | Hudl
Kipe does and excellent job of getting off blocks and then getting to the ball carrier to make tackles. This was the first thing that stood out about his game. Kipe has good length and upper body strength that allows him to keep distance from defenders. Kipe reacts quickly to plays. He is a good all around football player who will make an impact on this Dexter defense next year.
Michael Reder Michael Reder 6'3" | 260 lbs | DL Saline | 2025 State MI | Saline | 2025 | Hudl
Reder was a guy that I had on my radar heading into this season. He played very well for Saline and became a strong presence on the interior of the defensive line just as the team needed. He has good size and shows excellent play strength. Reder is a good pass rusher who shows a natural feel for getting after the quarterback. Reder can read run plays well and does a good job of plugging up gaps and closing off running lanes. Reder certainly can and will pursue ball carriers. He is a phyical tackler who does not shy away from making big hits.
Jamel Dew | Ypsilanti Lincoln | 2026 | Hudl
Dew has good burst and shows ability to pressure quarterbacks in a hurry. Dew holds the point of attack well and is good at stopping the run. Dew has good strength in his hands and upper body and uses this to fight off blocks when rushing the quarterback. There was a play in his highlights that really stood out, where he fought off several blocks to get pressure on the quarterback. Dew is a good athlete who shows the agility to work past blockers. I like his game a lot and he should be a standout once again for this team in 2024.
