The off-season is officially here and everything kicks off this weekend in Murfreesboro with the 2024 Prep Redzone Tennessee Winter Showcase, live from the Siegel Soccer Complex.

More than 120 prospects are set to attend this weekend's event with some of the state's best talent set to show off their abilities and push their recruiting stocks to another level, including some known names that are on the brink of breaking out.

On the offensive side of the ball, the quarterback group we have set for Saturday looks to be one of the best positions in attendance with several top names ready to compete.

Leading the way in this group are a trio of senior quarterbacks in [player_tooltip player_id='279486' first='Sam' last='Evitts'] (Sequatchie Co.), [player_tooltip player_id='353388' first='Blake' last='Owen'] (Cookeville) and [player_tooltip player_id='855565' first='Jakoby' last='Cox'] (Kenwood) that have the tools to make their way into the college game next year. All three are physically well built quarterbacks that have big arms along with the mobility that bring dual threat abilities to the playing field.

The underclassmen should be well represented as well. Some key names to know about and watch at the Showcase this Saturday include [player_tooltip player_id='914547' first='Kaedyn' last='Marable'] (BGA), [player_tooltip player_id='964976' first='Kannon' last='Burroughs'] (Green Hill), [player_tooltip player_id='353896' first='Jackson' last='Stroup'] (Gallatin), [player_tooltip player_id='205650' first='Blaine' last='Stansberry'] (Oak Ridge) and [player_tooltip player_id='492553' first='Hudson' last='Tucker'] from Briarcrest Christian.

Staying in the backfield, the running back position doesn't look as deep but there are few guys set to attend that have the upside to reach the college game. Possibly the biggest name that will be in Murfreesboro on Saturday is rising Maryville senior back [player_tooltip player_id='361227' first='Price' last='Davis']. Ranked as a current top 10 junior running back, Davis is an athletic guy that can take this Showcase and use it to his advantage towards establishing himself as a top in-state back for the #TN2025 class.

Another top name to follow is rising junior [player_tooltip player_id='834600' first='Kelan' last='Anderson']. Coming out of the East Nashville program, Anderson is actually transferring down to Georgia this off-season but will still be at home this weekend to display his talents in hopes of earning some college offers. Other backs to follow this weekend include [player_tooltip player_id='900800' first='Jhabari' last='Ellis'] (Arlington), [player_tooltip player_id='815325' first='Gage' last='Lee'] (Camden Central), [player_tooltip player_id='466232' first='Jayden' last='Milton'] (West Carroll), Rico Ward (M.A.S.E.) and Davidson Academy junior [player_tooltip player_id='492601' first='Caden' last='Stroud'].

Moving out wide to the receivers, this group will be interesting to watch come Saturday as I see some under the radar talent that can use the Winter Showcase as a boosting off point in their recruitment.

USJ senior [player_tooltip player_id='1080185' first='Noah' last='Spencer'] is coming off a strong junior year with some momentum and a player that could develop into an FCS, G5 player at receiver or safety with continued work. [player_tooltip player_id='889222' first='Garrett' last='Cyphers'] (Brentwood Acad.) and [player_tooltip player_id='492563' first='John' last='Binion'] (Lebanon) are two athletic pass catchers with tremendous upside, especially in the slot.

Marshall Co. rising senior [player_tooltip player_id='390641' first='Aja' last='Jones'] should be the most explosive wideout in attendance and someone with as much potential as anybody at Saturday's Showcase. Three sleepers to watch this weekend at receiver include [player_tooltip player_id='800802' first='Xavier' last='Bynoe'] (Beech), Jackson Tate (Sequatchie Co.) and Nolensville rising senior [player_tooltip player_id='1091839' first='Landon' last='Smotherman'].

The tight end group isn't large for this weekend but one guy to mention is Davidson Academy big man [player_tooltip player_id='466271' first='Wes' last='Harper']. The Bears 6 '3 pass catcher is a reliable guy that has produced at a high level for multiple years now and should be one of the more consistent performers at this weekend's event.

Possibly the best overall position group at this weekend's Showcase should be the offensive line. We have an absolutely loaded collection of offensive trench monsters set to compete this weekend with some top names attending that can take their games and recruitments to another stratosphere.

Warren Co. (TN) big man [player_tooltip player_id='466286' first='Xander' last='McCormick'] has already received an offer from MTSU and is building steam towards adding several more. Two East Tennessee O-linemen in [player_tooltip player_id='466287' first='Alex' last='Boyd'] (Maryville) and [player_tooltip player_id='466269' first='Ethan' last='Eubanks'] (Oak Ridge) have the mobility and size to become Top 20 in-state recruits at their position with continued work in both the weight room and playing field.

Page rising senior [player_tooltip player_id='808035' first='A.J.' last='Johnson'] has some of the best potential at the O-line position for the #TN2025 class. Sporting a great body frame for added weight, Johnson can bend and he moves very well, showing the upside to stay at tackle in college. Davidson Academy big man [player_tooltip player_id='480894' first='Mason' last='Melgoza'] has college size but still shows room for development.

Four seniors to be offensive linemen with upside to follow this weekend and throughout the upcoming year will be [player_tooltip player_id='323141' first='Hayden' last='Warwick'] (Carter), [player_tooltip player_id='854353' first='Kody' last='Powell'] (Raleigh-Egypt), [player_tooltip player_id='834619' first='Wyatt' last='Bakker'] (Father Ryan) and [player_tooltip player_id='938106' first='Bo' last='Bryan'] from Rockvale. Warwick is a steady performer with interior versatility. Powell is a massive human being (6'7 320 lbs) that could play tackle or guard in college. Bakker is a tenacious blocker with interior O-line versatility while Bryan is a hidden gem with mobility and tenacity.

The underclassmen up front will be well represented as well. Three of the best O-linemen from the #TN2026 class in [player_tooltip player_id='402530' first='Camden' last='Goforth'] (McMinn Co.), [player_tooltip player_id='866469' first='Austin' last='Hoane'] (Cookeville) and [player_tooltip player_id='926104' first='Charlie' last='Edgeworth'] (Baylor) have signed up to perform this weekend and all three will be fun to watch as we get to see how good these guys are in an up close and personal atmosphere.

Independence junior [player_tooltip player_id='425163' first='Syler' last='Green'] won MVP honors at last year's PRZTN combine and will be back this Saturday to earn top honors yet again, especially after landing his first offer recently from Eastern Ky. Carter junior [player_tooltip player_id='820869' first='Jake' last='Coffey'] is one to follow over the next two years as he has good size and flexibility as a possible college offensive guard or center.

A 2027 rising sophomore to know about this weekend and a talent that could become a Top 50 in-state recruit in time is Lipscomb Academy big man [player_tooltip player_id='866766' first='Weston' last='Hicks']. Standing 6 '6 250 pounds, Hicks has the size, arm length and athleticism to develop into a possible Power Five, D1 prospect with continued growth and development.

This appears to be a strong collection of offensive talent to scout this weekend with some guys that could jump out of the shadows and establish themselves as top recruits to follow this year. We also have some underclassmen to pay attention to, so Saturday in the Boro should be an outstanding opportunity to find talent and get them on the recruiting map!
