About Wyatt
Expert Analysis
Chris Smith | Prep Redzone Scout
Standing about 6’2 280 plus pounds, Bakker is a hidden gem that plays bigger than his size along with having vast experience handling center and multiple positions across the Fighting Irish front line. One of the most improved O-linemen from our senior class, Bakker is a technique sound ball player that moves well, shows the mobility to handle the pass rush while sporting upside to develop as a starting college center. This Mid-TN product handles tackle for his team and does a good job but has the size and skill level to excel on the interior. Time in the weight room will be needed for Bakker but he has the drive and mental makeup to work hard and gain the needed girth to eventually contend for a college starting spot.

, an offensive lineman at Father Ryan High School. In addition to great size, speed and strength, what stands out about Bakker is his ability to contain the defense, using his size, speed and arms to stun and overwhelm the opposition off the snap. I also like how Bakker can be disruptive, using his size to contest the blitz and protect his quarterback. Bakker was without question deserving of the other MVP award for his effort at the line.

, an offensive lineman at Father Ryan High School. In addition to excellent size, speed and strength, what impressed me about Bakker was his ability to stun and overpower his opponent during linemen drills. Bakker also caught my eye with his ability to withstand contact and absorb pressure, wearing down his opponent with his quick execution and ability to match physicality in one-on-one scenarios.

Competing at center on the O-line, Bakker had a stellar day displaying athleticism during his testing then excelling at 1 on 1’s where he shared MVP honors as the top O-lineman of camp. The Fighting Irish senior to be sports a well built body along with nice bend and good feet to become an excellent center or guard prospect over the coming months. What earned Bakker MVP honors was his ability to produce clean snaps while also consistently staying in front of his man. He will need to continue adding more weight but the potential is there for Bakker to turn into an FCS, possible D1 prospect over time.
