It is not a complete list and is being updated weekly, behind the scenes. There will be multiple official updates leading up to mid-August, when this 2028 class starts being considered high school prospects.
Here’s a look at the pass-catchers that made the initial list, in alphabetical order.
– Played for ASG
– Also runs track
Hailing from North Plainfield, he’s one of the premier wide receivers in Northern/Central New Jersey with some size. A reclassed prospect, he’s a strong kid who may ultimately play Safety down the line. Physical enough to create off screens and at this point is fast enough to take the top off a defense.
Highlights
– Played for Sayerville
– Also plays baseball
Have seen him live three times in the last four/five months and he just seems to keep growing. Ultimately could see him moving inside to play tight end because of his size. Scored a touchdown in a route over Central Florida at AYF Nationals, but impressed me more with his ability to block. Another sign, that a switch to TE could happen.
– Played for Silk City
– Younger brother of 2025 prospect John Forster
The “little brother”of one of the top 2025 prospects in the state, Forster is a good four to five inches than his 4-star running back older brother. Will be joining his brother at St. Joseph’s Regional for high school. In my opinion, the top wide receiver in New Jersey for the class of 2028 at this point. Big time red zone threat, that will be offered early.
– Played for Matawan
– Also plays basketball at a high level
One of the most physically impressive 2028 wide receiving prospects I’ve seen in the state, thus far. Put together very well with a lot of muscle. Catches the ball with his hands away from his body and can pick up a ton of yards after the catch. Also has a great vertical and can high point the ball with the best of ’em.
– Played for Silk City
– Also plays basketball and track and field
Hinds was part of a dominant Silk City team this year. Tough kid who seemingly took as much pride playing on the defensive side of the ball, as he did catching touchdown passes. Throughout the highlights I’ve seen of him, he appears to be one of the toe-tappers or tight rope walkers in the state, doing a great job of controlling his body and bringing in passes.
Highlights
– Played for Matawan
– Also plays basketball at a high level
Part of an extremely dangerous stable of wide receivers for Matawan over the last two years. A reclassed kid, he’s extremely long and almost reminds me of Kevin Durant as a wide receiver. Rarely a false step off the snap and gets into his routes quickly. Certainly on the lean side right now, adding muscle will make him even better.
Highlights
– Played for ASG
– Honor Roll Student-Athlete
In my eyes, Jo’siah Jones Jo’siah Jones 6’3″ | 160 lbs | WR NJ is not very far behind David Forster David Forster 6’4″ | 175 lbs | WR St. Joe’s Regional | 2028 NJ in terms of the pecking order for 2028 wide receivers in New Jersey. He’s extremely long and lean, making him a quarterback-favorite when it’s time to just throw it up. He’s a mismatch with his height and does a phenomenal job of making a play on balls that look to be uncatchable.
– Played for Woodbury
– Also plays linebacker and defensive back
Maddox is a tough kid that is starting to really turn the corner in terms realizing his potential. Has gotten a bit thicker over the last calendar year and helped Woodbury win the championship this season. Has impressed me a lot with his short to intermediate routes. He has improved his slant running, more than anything else.
– Played for Woodbury
– Comeback season after a broken collar last year
Much like the other wide receiver’s on this list, McNair had to share the ball with a lot of other talented kids for the Woodbury Steelers. He made the most of every opportunity this year and made a lot of big plays.
Highlights
– Played for Freehold
– Plays with a very high football IQ, comparatively
One of a few 2028 prospects that has already made their high school choice public, Medley is off to join Red Bank Catholic, the reigning NJSIAA Non-Public B State Champions. He’s on the trajectory to become one of the shore’s top pass-cathchers over the next four years. He understands situational football and comes up with a ton of production.
Highlights
– Played for West Orange
– Also plays basketball and track and field
West Orange has started to emerge as fertile ground for finding some talented pre-high school prospects, in multiple sports. Mishoe is a good example of this. Big, long kid that also played defensive end, tight end and even some defensive end this year. Was one of four West Orange athletes selected for the NJSYFL eighth-grade All-Star Game.
– Played for Glassboro
– Also plays basketball and baseball
Pay attention to what’s going on at Glassboro High School in South Jersey. For being a small high school, where upperclassmen typically make up the majority of the roster, they reached the NJSIAA Group 1 State Championship with a roster that was nearly half freshman and sophomores. Parker is the prospect leading the charge in this 2028 class and gives the Bulldogs another 6’2″+ option on the outside.
