Yesterday we took a look at the most productive returning QBs to keep your eyes on in 2024. Today, we look at the athletes on the receiving end of those big passing numbers. The athletes who have put up the most receiving yards that we will see back on the field this fall across WI. This includes a few athletes who play with those highly productive QBs. Others made their mark by reeling in a very high percentage of their team’s passing yards. Let’s dive into the numbers, and film where available, of these highly productive receiving threats.
Wisconsin’s most productive receiver returning in 2024 is also one of its most talented in the Class of 2025. Madden looks the part of a high end WR on tape. He has a 6’2″ 180 lbs frame that is packed with explosive athleticism. Madden has the pure speed to stretch the field, agility to make DBs miss in space, body control to run crisp routes, and the junior tracks the ball well. Madden finished 2024 with 1,158 receiving yards. Good for 2nd most in the state. Expect him to be in the race for that #1 spot this fall.
Highlights
Ethan Feldner
Ethan Feldner
Ethan ended the regular season as the leader in receiving yards, and ended the playoffs at #3 overall despite his team not making the postseason. His 1,146 yards and 10 TDs are numbers I believe he can match or beat in 2024. Ethan’s tape shows an impressive playmaker. He dominates defenses after the catch with speed that stands out from the crowd. Ethan looks like a punt returner after the catch. Quickly finding seams to hit, blocks to use, and ways to set up defenders so he can beat their angle or make them miss. The WR sees the field really well. I have a feeling we are going to continue to see him breakout this fall. Don’t sleep on the playmaker in the Class of 2025.
I am such a big fan of this kid. Chris finished 2024 with 1073 yards, and 13 TDs. He will be catching passes from a new QB this fall, but I don’t see that slowing him down much. My first big takeaway is how well Kiel has filled out his frame. He is a powerful athlete and looks more like an RB until you see him run routes. Kiel has excellent agility, the ability to start/stop quickly, and is very explosive laterally and vertically when he needs to attack the highpoint. That powerful frame comes in handy as a blocker too where he has shown he can overpower DBs. Coaches need to make sure the MH/B playmaker is on their recruiting boards.
Boden should have college coaches very excited to get him on campus this offseason/summer. Frosch put up 1,047 yards as a junior, and will be in position to beat that as a senior. His skill set is so exciting, and insanely difficult to matchup with at the HS level. The 2025 is fast, but he is even quicker than he is fast. His quick twitch in short areas jumps off the screen. It makes him a sudden route runner, opening up a ton of separation with that agility, acceleration, and body control. Expect Boden to be in the running for #1 in receiving yards in 2024.

Gavin Sell
Gavin Sell
Teams looking for a big bodied WR need to have Gavin Sell on their boards. The 6’3″ 190 lbs WR used that big frame to pile up 982 yards and 11 TDs at a 20/rec clip. Gavin shines in the redzone and short yardage situations where he can use his big, strong frame to box out defenders and high point the ball. Gavin also has the athleticism needed to play out wide at the next level. Both his speed and agility make him dangerous after the catch and also allowed him to be a dangerous punt returner. Check out the film on the big mismatch.
Sam Wegener
Sam Wegener
Another big WR prospect in the Class of 2025 is Clintonville’s Sam Wegener. Sam piled up 963 yards and 12 TDs as a junior. He will have a new QB to work with in 2024, but Sam should still see plenty of targets because of his reliable skill set. Sam uses his length to his advantage, is a long strider that gives him deceptive speed. He also has some wiggle in space to get around DBs. Keep an eye on the big target.
Bryce Plzak
Bryce Plzak
The first of two Sturgeon Bay standouts is Bryce Plzak and his 848 receiving yards. On tape we see that Bryce does a great job of finding soft spots in zone coverage. He also has shown that he has the sraight light speed to get behind the defense for big chunk plays. Bryce also is explosive with his acceleration. He is an under the radar prospect to watch this summer/season.
Lucas Ludlum
Lucas Ludlum
Lucas doesn’t have any film currently, but he is an athlete I will be keeping an eye out for. On a talented roster, Lucas put up 61 receptions, 797 yards, and 7 TDs. Platteville returns their starting QB, and graduates a solid chunk of production from other pass catchers that Lucas could pick up. Don’t be surprised to see him put together a big year.
The second Sturgeon Bay standout is Patrick Haese Patrick Haese 5’10” | 175 lbs | ATH Sturgeon Bay | 2025 State WI and his 783 receiving yards. Patrick actually makes plays from everywhere. He plays defense, WR and also lines up at RB. Patrick dominates with his burst in short areas, as well as his agility. He makes defenders miss, and is able to open up big chunks of separation with his route running. Haese is also a physical runner after the catch. This is an athlete who can do a lot at the next level, and should put up big numbers in multiple categories. Don’t sleep on him.

Boden Teal
Boden Teal
We end with another versatile weapon. Boden lines up at RB as well as WR for Northwestern. Despite his variety of uses, Teal was still able to put up 766 receiving yards. Right off the bat, on tape it is clear that his speed is a problem for defenses. He flies through seams as a runner, and takes the top off the defense as a receiver. Northwestern loves to use his superior athleticism to stretch the field and his soft hands make it possible. Teal is a hidden gem in Northern WI that teams need to be aware of. The film is exciting. Check it out.
