We had some outstanding talent all across the state and even some of the surrounding states. We’ve already had a ton of coverage from the event dropping on Prep Redzone Next! In this post, we’re putting the spotlight on the trenches. These guys were the best of the best along the offensive and defensive lines. Enid 2028 offensive lineman Brock Allen Brock Allen 6'4" | 295 lbs | OL OK and Deer Creek 2028 defensive lineman Romeo Campos Romeo Campos DL OK were covered earlier this week in our spotlight on the positional MVPs from the camp. Allen dominated his way to the offensive line MVP and Campos was the MVP on the defensive line.
No other way to put it, the offensive line absolutely dominated the trenches during the camp on Sunday. And we had a couple offensive linemen coming from different states that performed really well. The first is Armando Rodriguez Armando Rodriguez 5’10” | 310 lbs | OL TX from Waco, Texas. Rodriguez already looks like an interior lineman moving forward. He has quick feet and showcased good hand placement during the drills. Like all of the other players on this breakdown, Rodriguez was able to get instruction and then put the technique to work during the drills. Rodriguez was definitely in the top three for his position on Sunday afternoon. And there wasn’t much that separated those guys as the offensive line group as a whole did very well.

Checotah 2028 lineman Ashton Newport Ashton Newport 6’5″ | 315 lbs | OL OK came into the camp listed as a defensive lineman but he was a standout on the offensive side of that line of scrimmage. Newport has been at Eufaula but has moved to Checotah and there’s a really good chance he makes an impact on the varsity level as a freshman this fall. Newport already looks the part physically. He measured in at 6’4 and it doesn’t look like he’s done growing. As he continues to get more athletic and quicker, he’s going to be a dangerous tackle prospect moving forward. On Sunday, you could see that Newport had a lot of potential to be a big player moving forward. He’s just scratching the surface on the lineman he’ll be when he gets to high school.
Here’s the first of two campers on this breakdown that were listed as tight ends coming into the camp and ended up shining bright as defensive linemen. Stillwater’s Chandler Johnson Chandler Johnson 6’1″ | 190 lbs | DL Stillwater | 2028 OK came into the camp as a tight end and performed really well during the drills. He did a great job receiving coaching and one thing that we’re already excited about is his size and that ability to get coached up. During the competition portion of the camp, Johnson was an absolute menace coming off the edge. He will go into high school and join a Stillwater team that has had a very aggressive front seven over the last few years. We’re looking forward to seeing how he fits and and how soon he impacts the varsity level.

2028 offensive lineman Davis Moon Davis Moon 6’2″ | 240 lbs | OL Valor Christian | 2028 CO came down from Colorado and absolutely dominated on Sunday afternoon. Allen might have been the MVP pick but Moon was right there and honestly, you could make a strong argument for Moon to be the best of the bunch. When I got a chance to watch the OL group, Moon really stood out, rep after rep. Moon was an absolute technician during the one on one competition. It didn’t matter what moves the defensive line was trying, Moon had an answer and always kept his balance. Moon was one of the names we had circled coming into Sunday’s camp and he certainly lived up to the hype. Footwork, hands and strength were on point for Moon in Broken Arrow.

We mentioned that there were two campers that were listed as tight ends and ended up shining on the defensive line. Ada 2028 standout Nate Boeck Nate Boeck 6’3″ | ATH Ada | 2027 OK was the other player and just like Johnson, Boeck was a wrecking ball coming off the edge during the various one on one competitions. We also covered Boeck earlier this week as he finished the camp as one of the top testers during the combine testing. Boeck first got on our radar last year at our first PRZ-Next camp in Oklahoma and he’s continued to grow his game. Boeck also trains with C4 down in Durant so we’ll certainly be seeing him again this offseason. Boeck continues to get better and it’ll be interesting to see what position ends up being the natural spot.
