Continue ReadingOwen was added to the 2025 watch list over the past season and after a monster year I can guarantee that you’ll see him in the official rankings in the fall. Piavis ended the season with 33 TFL’s which led the state and was second in the sack category with 16. In his most busy game against Bennett he recorded 17 total tackles and 2 sacks. Owen is an edge rusher who beats his opponents with quickness and his hands. He consistently wins with his swim move, and even put a shoulder fake on display to beat a block and secure the sack. 103 tackles is the difference Piavis brings to the North Caroline defense, keeping opposing QB’s on their toes and the offense moving backwards.
DePompa had a breakout season with 5 interceptions, 93 return yards and 2 TD’s. He also had 81 tackles, 11 TFL’s, and 3 sacks. Trent plays the zone well from his strong safety position starting even with the linebackers or lined up like a nickel, he got most of his interceptions in zone coverage. He’s aggressive through blocks and put some hard tackles on display in film. He’s showing that he has all the skills to be a good safety at this level, we’ll keep an eye on DePompa, he could possibly play his way into some offers with this type of production.
This past season Thomas finished with the 3rd most sacks in the state, recording 14 sacks for a total of -95 yards. He had 3 sacks in 3 different games and at least 1 sack in 8 out of 9 games. Thomas has impressive size and some athleticism to compliment; he showed off his athleticism catching a 50-yard post and gaining some yac down the sideline. I expect Thomas to have an even more dominant senior season after catching his stride at the Varsity level this year.
Moses was top 5 in TFL’s this season with 25 and with that he added 7 sacks, and 5 forced fumbles. Moses even had a defensive touchdown after one of his 4 fumble recoveries. He’s been dominant in the 4A/3A division for 2 years on the varsity level, now he’s transferring to MD national power St. Frances Academy. With Moses already at the top of the edge rusher/ OLB rankings expect his recruiting stock to take a leap after competing at a higher level, so far, he currently holds a D1 offer from the University of Massachusetts.
