With the 2023 high school football season behind us, another senior class will be moving on to the next level. As we move into a new season, I wanted to take a look back at the class of 2024 by releasing the final 2024 rankings for the state of Kentucky. With these rankings being officially published, I will be taking the next week to break down each position. After already covering the offensive side of the ball, I have now turned my attention to the defensive side of the ball. After covering the defensive line and linebackers, I will now wrap up the defensive side of the ball with our top defensive backs in the class of 2024 in the state of Kentucky.

He had a very impressive senior year at corner where he showed the ability to lockdown his side of the field in man coverage. Lowe showed the ability to turn and run with receivers to mirror their routes and when the ball was thrown his way, he did a great job of reacting with perfect timing to make a play on the ball. He finished the season with one interception and numerous pass breakups. Lowe also showed the ability to provide support against the run, finishing the season with 25 tackles and one tackle for loss in 12 games. Jeremiah signed with Michigan where I can see him developing into a key piece of their secondary.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["422905"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"Another Frederick Douglass defensive back that stood out to me this season is [player_tooltip player_id='422905' first='Terrion' last='Hicks']. He lined up at the opposite corner from Lowe where he was also very impressive in man coverage. Hicks showed an impressive ability to jam receivers and run with them to mirror their routes. When the ball was thrown his way, he showed the ability to fight across the receiver's body to break up the pass. Hicks also showed the ability to make plays against the run, finishing the season with 30 tackles and one tackle for loss in 12 games. He also finished the season with a half sack. Hicks signed with Northwestern where I can see him becoming a key contributor in their secondary once he gets there.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["468474"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='468474' first='Beni' last='Mwamba'] is a player that has been high on my radar for a while now and continued to impress this season. Mwamba lined up at corner where he had a very strong senior year. He was very impressive in man coverage, showing the ability to open up and run with receivers to mirror their routes. When the ball was thrown his way, he showed the ability to break on the pass with perfect timing to make a play. He finished the season with four interceptions in 12 games. Beni was also impressive against the run, finishing the season with 48 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss. He also returned one kickoff for a touchdown, and caught 12 passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns. Mwamba signed with UT-Chattanooga where I see him making a huge impact on the defensive side of the ball.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["423720"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='423720' first='Montel' last='Campbell'] is another defensive back that has been high on my radar for a while and continued to stand out this season. Campbell lined up in a strong safety/outside linebacker role where he was very impressive against the run. He showed the ability to read the play and come downhill in a hurry to make tackles in the open field. Montel finished the season with 114 tackles and six tackles for loss in 14 games. He also showed the ability to make plays against the pass, finishing the season with two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and two sacks. Campbell also caught one passing touchdown this season. Montel currently holds offers from West Virginia State and Charleston (WV), and I expect him to make an impact wherever he decides to play at the next level.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["381906"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"To wrap up our top five defensive backs in the class of 2024 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='381906' first='Wick' last='Dotson']. Wick lined up at safety where he was impressive in pass coverage. He showed the ability to read the quarterback and route combinations then break on the ball with perfect timing to make a play. Dotson finished the season with two interceptions in 15 games, returning one of them for a touchdown. He also showed the ability to fill the lane and provide support against the run, finishing the season with 69 tackles and three tackles for loss. Dotson also finished the season with one sack. Wick doesn't currently hold any offers but he definitely deserves some attention from college coaches as he has the talent to play at the next level.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":5,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-65a060c803c7f"} /-->
